I read about two cours, 52 episodes, to cover all the material in the manga that they plan to adapt. Hope that it is true!

First of all, just a slight correction: The source is not the manga. The manga itself is an adaption of the original novels which the anime is also based on.
And second, there is no official episode count yet. People are speculating how many episodes the anime will need to cover both arcs, but it's unlikely to be set in stone yet beyond a proposed budget. We probably won't know much more until just before the season it airs at the earliest.

Also, 52 episodes are 4 cours, not 2.
