Let's see...Important weapons, some miscellaneous items/bonuses, and story modes that could've been included in the game from the start as unlockables...
This is why I loathe modern-day gaming so dearly.

Because their DLC was an extension of the game itself and not content cut from the game so as to make more money off their fans. It is like saying "Why wasn't the sequel of this book included in the original"? They are two distinct entities with one being the clear successor to the other. Final Fantasy has a history with the type of DLC that they provide. Cosmetics and minigame type content. Basically, at no point in the history of Final Fantasy, has DLC content been handled well. So why should anyone be excited that they are not only doing DLC but, by all appearances, are extensively planning around the idea of doing DLC? It's just not a good way to start. |

First off, The Witcher 3 included 13 DLC pieces that were released on nearly a weekly basis for free. Blood and wine is over 20 hours long and is essentially adding another game's worth of content to an already massive game. If you have to ask why they charged for something that is not DLC but in fact an expansion you've obviously never played the Witcher 3. You are trying to compare that to the day one DLC of FFXV, where the content was obviously cut out of the base game for the sole point of making money. You should at least know about what you are talking about before you smear a game. |
