Although you can actually see the hair of the character egoist named to the right of the picture, so there is technical ground for giving it to egoist (assuming it's the right character). That or say screw technicalities.

Well, it looks like a self-propelled, fairy-dust-powered baseball flying high over the ocean. Hmm, I'd say the altitude is at least several kilometres, given the slight curve of the horizon and how the ocean looks. Also, cumulus cloud can be seen far below the ball, where as some sort of stratus cloud is above it. The speed appears to be over Mach 1, both because of the shape of the shockwave and the way the ball is deforming due to extreme heat.
As to the Anime, well does Prince of Tennis have a baseball cousin? |
