Wow, I didn't know it was based on a real person. Must be pissed that she's depicted as such a retard in the manga and the drama.

That is interesting, I love seeing where people get their inspiration.
I don't think Nodame is shown as a retard though. She's just different (and I don't use the term as a euphemism).

Read the article; the real Nodame keeps in touch with the author and advises her. And you'd have to be pretty uptight to get offended by a high-spirited think like NC.

The latter adjective is better reserved for those girls in most shonen animation: harem, boy-focused fighting anime, etc. : P
They (the manga-ka and Megumi) appears to be on friendly terms anyway.
