Rumblings on the internet says that everyone is sailing the high seas for this one. 2 month delay for it to include the dubs and if I'm reading it correctly, it's also going to be released weekly also?

Thanks to the ridiculous amount of Saturday shows I'm watching this season, for once I'm actually glad a show will get stuck in Netflix jail for two months. I'll be sure to watch it in September, though.

No one is going to wait 2 months for this, Netflix already have the english subs and they are simulcating the show in SEA now. Netflix really blundered on this big time. I have a Netflix subsription but Netflix is not simulcating the show here in Australia so I will just pirate this instead.

Few better combinations than Netflix and kneecapping shows they bothered to acquire for no good reason

Like at that point why even bother. Just batch release it by the end of the season instead.

I have a hunch that the reason that Netflix isn't simulcasting The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity weekly as they did it with Blue Box and now The Summer Hikaru Died is becuase they licensed show at the very last minute last month compared to the other anime shows that Netflix acquired/licensed such as My Happy Marriage, Delicious in Dungeon, Ranma ½, and Sakamoto Days which were licensed 3-6 months before the anime premiered in Japan. Plus it seems this month (July) Netflix is prioritizing and putting more attention on Sakamoto Days along with DanDaDan and Witch Watch for their simuldub weekly releases especially with the former (Sakamoto) being a Netflix licensed original thus leaving little to no room for The Fragrant Flower Blooms and Hikaru getting weekly simuldubs. Lastly, Netflix only has Dubbing Brothers USA and VSI Los Angeles as their ONLY recording studios that does anime voiceover from the NP3 program after Netflix dropped Bang Zoom! (since 2024, Iyuno (since 2024 due to the August 2024 leaks), Studiopolis (since 2024), NYAV Post (since 2022) and probably those two studios weren’t a fan of doing simuldub releases compared to Bang Zoom! and Iyuno which did do simuldub weekly series, even though VSI LA started doing simul-dubbing for Season 2 of My Happy Marriage back in January of this year, but it was due to the fact that Iyuno which recorded the first season and the OVA left the NP3 in December of 2024. |

They were doing a really good job of avoiding the Netflix batch delayed release for a couple years.

Even if they acquired the show late, they can still simulcast it even with a 1 week delay. They already have the English subtitles and they will be releasing every episode in SEA region with English subs starting July 13. Keeping the show on hostage just because they want to release the show with subs and dub at the same time doesn't make sense at all. By September, everyone who was waiting for the show will mostlikely have watched this elsewhere. Either by using VPN to watch the 1 week delay with English subs in SEA region or pirate the show entirely. People who wants the dub can wait for it while the rest can watch the subs version. I don't understand why we all need to suffer just to wait for the dub. They can simulcat the show now as they are doing in SEA region with the 1 week delay and just add the dub on alter date one they have it. |

Netflix wants us back in the dark ages, clearly.

How disappointing of Netflix. This is one of the most anticipated shows of the year, so why should everyone outside of SEA have to wait an extra 60 days before seeing the show? It reeks of ignorance and lack of preparation by Netflix. At this point just say it’s being released during the fall season. Shame.

Again as I mentioned before, the reason Netflix acquired/licensed such as My Happy Marriage, Delicious in Dungeon, Ranma ½, Sakamoto Days and Blue Box 3-6 months before the anime premiered in Japan was to allow for Netflix to fully prepare for their simuldub weekly releases, yet with Blue Box it took them 5-6 months for the dub to come out despite Netflix releasing the show weekly due to some clause from the production committee of the anime or the recording studio that did Blue Box not being acquainted with simuldub releases compared to Iyuno and Bang Zoom! Now on the subject as to why Netflix is releasing the Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity internationally in September and didn't bothered doing a weekly release or a one week delay this month is becuase as I saidbefore, they licensed the show at the very last minute in June just one month before they premiered which gave them less time to have them do the simuldub weekly release for the show compared to My Happy Marriage, Delicious in Dungeon, Ranma ½, Sakamoto Days which had the dubbed episodes recorded 2-3 months before the anime premiered, along with some clauses or contract stipulations by the production committee of Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity preventing Netflix from having an international simuldub release like the other shows (My Happy Marriage, Delicious in Dungeon, Ranma ½, and Sakamoto Days) similar to what happened with Blue Box and now The Summer Hikaru Died were released weekly but not in silmudub as they are in Japanese language compared to Fragrant which ONLY has the first episode available in SEA but no where else until September 7 where they would release the first 9-10 episodes. Besides, Netflix is putting more attention on Sakamoto Days along with DanDaDan and Witch Watch for their simuldub weekly releases this month especially the former, which is why Netflix didn't even bother doing a simuldub release for Hikaru and The Fragrant Flower in July, plus Netflix ONLY has Dubbing Brothers USA and VSI Los Angeles respectively and are the remaining recording studios that does anime voiceover from the NP3 program after Netflix already dropped Bang Zoom! (since 2024, Iyuno (since 2024 due to the August 2024 leaks) and Studiopolis (since 2024) as their dubbing partners with the former two studios responsible for the simuldub releases. Look, it's a complicated situation why Netflix never bothered doing a weekly release or weekly delay with a dub for Fragrant Flower but when it comes to their recently licensed anime shows since 2023 Netflix usually does two options: 1. Either Netflix licenses the show months ahead of time (4-6 months) and starts recording the dubbed episodes 2-3 months before the show premieres in Japan (e.g., My Happy Marriage, Delicious in Dungeon, Ranma ½, and Sakamoto Days) OR 2. Release the show weekly on Netflix but not release this with a dub on the same day due to contract/clause stipulations by the show's production committee, and will only release the dub episodes either in batches every 3-4 months with the first batch consisting of the first 10-13 episodes followed by the next half of episodes 3-4 months later or Netflix drops the entire dub episodes in a batch once the show finishes airing it's season (e.g. Blue Box, The Summer Hikaru Died, The Fragrant Flower) |
