This year's 10th issue of Kodansha's Morning magazine is announcing the staff and cast of the Uchū Kyōdai (Space Bros.) television anime series this week.

Hiroaki Hirata (Tiger & Bunny's Kotetsu, One Piece's Sanji) and KENN (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX's Jūdai, The Tower of Druaga: the Aegis of Uruk's Jil) will star as Mutta and Hibito Nanba, two brothers who made a childhood vow to travel to space. Miyuki Sawashiro (Bakemonogatari's Suruga Kanbaru, Durarara's Celty) plays a fellow astronaut trainee named Serika Itō, while Masako Ikeda (Galaxy Express 999's Maetel, Phoenix's title character) plays the astronomer Sharon.

The anime's official Twitter account already confirmed last week that Ayumu Watanabe is directing this adaptation of Chūya Koyama's manga. Makoto Uezu (School Days, Is This a Zombie?) is editing the series scripts, and Toshiyuki Watanabe (Ginga Hyōryū Vifam, Kiko Senki Dragonar) is composing the music with sound director Katsuyoshi Kobayashi (Banner of the Stars, Cowboy Bebop). Hiroshi Kato (Neon Genesis Evangelion, 2003 Astro Boy) is in charge of art direction, and A-1 Pictures is animating the project.

The anime will premiere on Sunday, April 1 at 7:00 a.m. on YTV, NTV, and 27 other stations in Japan.
