U.K. Home Editions of Kaiju No. 8 Released on Monday

On Monday December 15, Crunchyroll will release Kaiju No. 8 in both a limited Blu-ray edition (pictured right) and a standard Blu-ray edition (pictured below left). The Limited Blu-ray edition will include a 160-page art book, five art cards, an APET O-Card, a Glow in the Dark Kaiju No. 8 Acrylic Standee and Metallic Art Card.

The series is described as follows:

"Kafka Hibino dreams of joining the Defense Force and facing the giant monsters of Japan. Too bad this dreamer is stuck on kaiju cleanup duty. Yet, inspired by his young coworker, he enlists one more time. Just one problem - Kafka has turned into a Kaiju."

Shigeyuki Miya (Onihei) directed the anime. Ichirō Ōkouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) handled the series composition and screenplay. Tetsuya Nishio (Naruto) was the character designer and chief animation director. Mahiro Maeda (Shin Godzilla) designed the monsters. Shinji Kimura (Tekkonkinkreet) was the art director. Yūta Bandō (BELLE) composed the music.

Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell) handled animation production, and Studio Khara (Rebuild of Evangelion) was in charge of kaiju designs and artworks. Naoya Matsumoto launched the source manga in July 2020 on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ website

Anime Limited will release a Blu-ray edition of Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!. Sumito Ōwara's Eizōken ni wa Te o Dasu na! (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) manga follows Midori, Tsubame, and Sayaka, an energetic trio of first-year high school girls who come together in the Eizouken (Video Research Club) to turn their anime dreams into a reality. Midori is nervous to create an anime alone. She meets Tsubame who appears to be a well-to-do girl but she really has artistic dreams of being an animator. Midori's best friend Sayaka has the financial sense to bring the project to fruition and joins the pair on their quest.

Masaaki Yuasa (DEVILMAN crybaby, The Tatami Galaxy, Night is Short, Walk On Girl) directed the anime at Science SARU. Yuasa also supervised the series scripts. Naoyuki Asano (Saint Young Men, Mr. Osomatsu) designed the characters, and Oorutaichi (Kick-Heart, Lu over the wall) composed the music. Sumito Ōwara launched the manga in Shogakukan's Gekkan! Spirits magazine in 2016.

Crunchyroll will release Mamoru Oshii's 1995 film Ghost in the Shell in two Blu-ray steelbook editions, a "Kuro" edition (pictured left) and a "Shiro" edition (pictured right). Funimation has previously described the film:

"In the year 2029, cybernetic government agent, Major Motoko Kusanagi and the Internal Bureau of Investigations are hot on the trail of “The Puppet Master”—a mysterious and threatening computer virus is capable of infiltrating human hosts. Working closely with her fellow agents from Section 9, the Major embarks on a high-tech race against time to capture the omnipresent entity."

Oshii and Production I.G's 1995 film is based on Masamune Shirow's manga of the same name.

Anime Limited will release a Blu-ray of the 6-part series Diebuster, Studio Gainax''s sequel to Gunbuster. The video anime series, which was released on DVD in Japan between 2004-2006, follows a waitress named Nono (Fukui) who one day meets Lal'C Melk Mark (Sakamoto), a member of the elite pilot team Topless. Nono uses her super strength to help L'al'C and her Buster Machine defeat an alien, and from then on Nono hopes to become a member of Topless.

Kazuya Tsurumaki (FLCL, Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion, Gunbuster) designed the original concept and directed the series, and Yōji Enokido (RahXephon, Redline, Revolutionary Girl Utena) handled the screenplay. The show stars Maaya Sakamoto, Mitsuo Iwata, Miyuki Sawashiro, and Yukari Fukui.

Crunchyroll will release My Hero Academia Season 7 Part, as a limited Blu-ray (pictured right) as well as standard Blu-ray and DVD editions - the standard Blu-ray is pictured below left). The limited Blu-ray will include a 64-page art book and six art cards.

This volume contains episodes 151 to 159 of the series, and is described as follows:

"All For One races toward Shigaraki, determined to find him before rewinding out of existence. Elsewhere, battles between the heroes and villains reach explosive heights, and the world will be forever changed thanks to the emotions of one girl."

Crunchyroll will release a Blu-ray of One Piece Collection 39, carrying episodes 941 to 964.The volume is described as follows:

"Zoro and Sanji protect Toko in the aftermath of Tonoyasu's execution. Luffy's struggle in the Sumo Inferno is cut short when Big Mom shows up, sparking a full-blown battle royale. When the dust settles, she and Kaido form an alliance, the Seven Warlords disband, and the rebellion races to prepare for the raid on Onigashima. Years earlier, Oden embarks on his legendary journey."
