The half year results are in for the Yahoo! Search Awards, revealing what anime, actors, and subjects netizens are looking for the most. In the last six months, users have searched for three anime series more than others: Darling in the Franxx, The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments, and Pop Team Epic.

Tohru Furuya, the voice of Detective Conan's Tōru Amuro, was a top pick in the voice actor category and his name was often searched together with "Tōru Amuro". The character stars in this year's box office smash Detective Conan: Zero's Executioner film. Tōru's popularity has contributed to reprints of two issues of Shogakukan's Shōnen Sunday S magazine.

Aya Hisakawa, who took over the role of Bulma after Hiromi Tsuru passed away on November 16, was also a top search. Similarly, Yumiko Kobayashi also ranked among the top searched voice actors. She took on on the titular role in Crayon Shin-chan in July.

Other top searches so far include:
Video Games

  • Knives Out
  • Dragon Ball Legends
  • Monster Hunter: World

TV Dramas

  • Boys Over Flowers Season 2
  • Half Blue
  • Black Pean (Black Forceps)

Music Artists

  • Namie Amuro
  • ELLEGARDEN
  • Kenshi Yonezu

Idols

  • King & Prince
  • Sho Hirano
  • Jurina Matsui

Yahoo! used its search engine data in Japan from January 1 to June 30 to determine the interim results. The awards announces its results every December. Last year, the anime series Kemono Friends, voice actor Junichi Suwabe, video game Dragon Quest XI, and the Nintendo Switch console were all honored with awards, among others.

This year's awards will be held on December 5.
