Thy Geekdom Con is Coming to the Greater Philadelphia's Premiere Expo Center
The long time Delaware convention is coming to PA
Oaks, PA – Thy Geekdom Con the long time Wilmington Delaware pop culture convention is moving to The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center Hall C in Oaks, PA on November 2-4 2018. The new location gives the convention 55,000 square feet to better accommodate the attendance it has drawn. Not only do we have more space this year, but free parking! Entrance to the convention is still as affordable as ever, weekend tickets are only $35. Single day tickets are available and at the door.
This year's big news is our Geek of Honor Colleen Clinkenbeard. She is a long time Funimation voice actress and ADR director. You may know her as Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece, Erza Scarlet in Fairy Tail, Riza Hawkeye in Fullmetal Alchemist, Momo Yaoyorozu in My Hero Academia, Lilith in Borderlands, and many others.
Among our other guests are voices actresses Megan Shipman (Yuzu Aihara in Citrus and Camie in One Piece) singing anime theme songs on stage. Katelyn Barr (Melds Dietz in Star Blazers 2199 and Yukari Origami in Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko) who will be hosting 18+ Cards Against Humanity with special guests. We'll also have Tennessee based artist Matthew Atchley.
Many of the activities attendees know and love will be back and expanded upon. Once again the con will be open until 2 AM Saturday morning meaning there will be lots to do after the vendor hall closes. The video game tournaments will feature old standbys. Super Smash Bros. Melee and Street Fighter V will be accompanied by Dragon Ball FighterZ as well as a few surprises and mystery games. We will also feature a free play area where you can pick up and play games.
Last year's new addition of a tabletop room was a huge success so you can expect it to be back and better than ever. Our game masters will have more board games and rpgs to host. There will even be a few opportunities to win prizes. Attendees are welcome to bring their own games and tcg decks and find others looking to play games.
The con will host a wide variety of acts and panels all weekend. Some highlights will be about voice acting, script writing, and anime. Additionally, we will host fan panels, acts that will grace the stages with a wide variety of bands, djs, and other talent. There will be something for everyone.
