I've arranged this by days to make it easy to fill out a calendar.
Looks like Kill Blue is the last TBA for Crunchyroll. It debuts 4/11/2026 The I Gained A Cheat Skill in Another World et al special is also on CR at this time. -Premiere dates and showtimes often change at the last minute, and I will try to stay on top of them. The Strongest Job et al premiered Tuesday, the date it is still listed for, but episode 2 just dropped on Saturday. First Edjwald let me thank you for all your work in starting up discussion threads for the Spring shows and this thread. Much appreciated. I just went through the exercise today of identifying the shows I plan to sample and there are 34 of them plus 1 sequel (Dr. Stone: Science Future Season 3).
The big question will be... how many of the shows will I stick with? I dropped very few this winter but I suspect I may be a bit more trigger happy in the spring. We'll see. Just off the top of my head, the titles I am most anticipating are: The Drops of God - you can do worse with me than to have a show revolve around alcohol. Also, I believe this is based on a well regarded manga series? And maybe a well-regarded live action TV series? I dunno, but I just have a vague memory of hearing positive things about this title. Fist of the North Star - I guess this is a reboot? In any case, seems like the kind of show where my chest grows hairier just by watching it. Snowball Earth - Iceworld. Sure, why not? Akane-banashi - this show about Rakugo seems to be getting a lot of buzz. Definitely curious as to what all the fuss is about. MAO - I like the going back in time to early 20th century Japan and that the lead character might be an ayakashi. Nippon Sangoku The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun - A post-apocalyptic version of the Three Kingdoms story? Yes, please. Witch Hat Atelier - I've been aware of this show for a while and eagerly awaiting it. Hope it lives up to the hype. Tadaima, Ojamasaremasu! - Seems like a fun premise... a female otaku whose apartment gets linked with two dudes. Kujima: Why Sing, When You Can Warble - Premise is off-beat enough to intrigue me. |

It strikes me as odd is that there's going to be zero break between anime seasons this time. The last episode of There was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party is next Tuesday (3/31) and The Food Diary of Miss Maid and The Strongest Job is Apparently Not a Hero debut on the same day, with anime following every day after that.
Anyway, I haven't had my trailer bacchanalia yet - maybe this Saturday - so there are lots of anime I'm interested in, but the only non-sequel anime that I'm investing any real hope in are Drops of God and Witch Hat Atelier and, oddly enough, Dandelion I haven't even seen a trailer for Dandelion, but it's apparently a 7 episode series on Netflix where there are two angels (or the Japanese version) who work for an Angel federation, dressing like men in black. The senior mentor likes to take a slow, holistic approach, teaching the rookie partner to help souls stuck on earth move on by listening to their stories and hanging out in their favorite spots just shooting the $hi+ and so forth. Then there's a bunch that I hope I'll like whether they're high quality or not. You already mentioned Snowball Earth, Akane-Banashi, Nippon Sangoku, and Kujima: Why Sing When You Can Warble which looks to have a Flying Witch kind of quality.. I'd also add a few. Agents of the Four Seasons looks beautiful and sounds interesting. Kusoniki's Garden of the Gods is the sort of thing I want to like. Smurky says the manga of Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku is good even though the plot sounds bog standard. Eren the Southpaw could be cool. I liked Blue Period a lot, and this is about an artist trying to break out of mediocrity while apparently in an office environment. And I always hope isekai like The Strongest Job is Apparently Not a Hero or a Sage will be good. |

Just found out that Ramparts of Ice is made by the same person who wrote You and I are Polar Opposites, so add it to my list of anime where I'll be actively disappointed if it's not good.
The other thing that's odd about this season is how many of the shows are double cours. That Time I Reincarnated as a Slime Re:Zero Ascendance of a Bookworm Welcome to Demon School Daemons of the Shadow Realm The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch Mao are all double cours, which makes me think the latter two are on Crunchyroll's unrevealed list. |

That sure is another chunky season. Quite a few big sequels and interesting newcomers. Despite that my most anticipated list has three isekai at the top with Isekai Nonbiri Nouka, Reborn as a Vending Machine and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. I do hope the latter has less roundtable meetings this time though. Otherwise I am quite excited to see Dr. Stone end, Mairimashita! Iruma-kun continue and Witch Hat Atelier hopefully shine.

@Tony. Thanks, Tony. BTW - if Crunchyroll and Netflix and HIDIVE put out official trailers, does ANN have some rule against putting links to those official trailers in the Thread intros?
@Smurky - I dropped Slime Time about four or five episodes into last season and I don't plan on going back. Part of that is PTSD from Log Horizon S3, which fell into a similar pattern. It never recovered, and neither did I. But I'm looking forward to Farming Life in Another World too, blurrily obscured relationships and all. |

Nope. In fact, it was very common to put trailers in the openers to help build hype when the forums were more active. So if you find some, feel free to add 'em! EDIT: Grammar. Last edited by Tony K. on Fri Mar 27, 2026 3:58 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Saw the first episode of this one in the Crunchyroll Sneak Peek last week. It looks like it's going to be one of these series that thrives on melodrama and complicates things just for the sake of complicating things. No chance of making my viewing list in such a crowded season, but some should find it to be cheesy, more adult-focused fun. |

Is there really no discussion thread for Dorohedoro on this site? I had thought it was really popular, given how often I see it mentioned in other threads, but afaict there's no actual thread for it.
I had watched one episode back when and was kinda meh, but seeing a second season upcoming and more kudos for the first season in response, decided to give it another shot, and liked it much better. Came to look for the 2020 discussion, but it appears there never was one outside the one series review article. :/ I'm not really asking for one now, unless S2 doesn't make the weekly review list, since I tend to post in one area or the other, but not both (don't like repeating myself unless it's particularly relevant to some point). Of course, if you think there should be one here too, go for it. |

I found and merged it with Edjwald's. Looks like no one even talked about it way back then, aside from Dusky for the finale.

Yeah, I watched Dorohedoro when it first came out on Netflix but I think all the episodes were available right off the bat, instead of week to week. Back in those days, that pretty much guaranteed there'd be no series discussion thread.

Just for future reference, I added a line for trailers at the bottom of the templates. You literally just need to copy the URL and paste it after the equal sign.
