Death Note/One Piece voice actor to attend convention in May

The Animazement convention has announced on Tuesday that it will host voice actor Kappei Yamaguchi at the May 28-30 event in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Yamaguchi voiced the roles of Ranma (Ranma ½), Tombo (Kiki's Delivery Service), InuYasha (InuYasha), L (Death Note), Usopp (One Piece), and many other characters. Yamaguchi is often considered one of the most prolific voice actors in Japan, with roles in hundreds of anime, video-games and Japanese dubs of foreign films. Kappei previously appeared at both Otakon in 2008 and Sakura-Con in 2009.

Animazement had announced earlier that it will host voice actresses Keiko Han (Sailor Moon's Luna, Mobile Suit Gundam's Lalah sune), Noriko Hidaka (InuYasha's Kikyo, Ranma ½'s Akane Tendo), Chika Sakamoto (Fushigi Yugi's Nuriko, Heartcatch Precure!'s Kaoruko Hanasaki), voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue (Case Closed's Inspector Shiratori, Fruits Basket's Hatori Soma), manga creator Chiho Saitō (Revolutionary Girl Utena, World of S&M), animation director Kōichi Tsunoda (Mazinger Z, Galaxy Express 999), producer Yasuo Yamaguchi (Akane-chan, Mahou Shoujo Lalabel), musician and artist Yūsuke Igarashi and visual kei band Uchu Sentai NOIZ. The convention will also host translator Toshifumi Yoshida, voice actress and translator Trish Ledoux, voice actress Cristina Vee, and voice actors Spike Spencer and Richard Ian Cox.
