Plot Summary: Johnny Rico is demoted to Colonel and relocated to Mars to train a new batch of soldiers. The inhabitants of Mars have been unsupportive of the war against the bugs, but when bugs invade the planet, Sky Marshal Amy Snapp takes advantage of the chaos by destroying Mars and placing the blame on General Carl Jenkins in order to gain full support from the Federation.

Released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 1997 Starship Troopers film. Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars marks the return of cast members Casper Van Dien (who played Johnny Rico in the first film and Starship Troopers 3: Marauder) and Dina Meyer (who played Dizzy Flores in the first film), as well as writer Edward Neumeier (who wrote the first three films and directed Starship Troopers 3: Marauder).
