Pretty damn good movie. Interesting storyline and whatnot. The characters are pretty ugly. Like...Kei, the chick? She looks just like Kaneda except that her hair is slightly longer. Same square man face, same stocky man build. In terms of animation, this movie excels. Instead of the usual 2 frame mouth open-mouth closed BS you see in anime, they go all out with the animations in this movie. Without giving too much away, the antagonist's final-boss transformation was pretty nasty looking. Also, there's some real Jenova/Lifestream/center of the earth Final Fantasy 7 stuff towards the end. So, if my excruciatingly detailed review hasn't convinced ya, you need to see this.
Update: I've actually read the manga now...and the two story lines are very very different. Some characters aren't introduced at all (big husky house-mama with the machine gun, etc.)...and others play very different roles (Tetsuo's GF was more like a concubine in the manga...) Both are still pretty damn good, seeing as how turning that much manga into animation would yield a 4+ hour long movie (imo). |

Action series about a businessman who gets involved in some nasty crap, and his boss/corporation ends up trying to off him. He survives, and joins up with some bad guy smuggler types. They go around doing stuff with/to other bad guys, and all congregate at some big bad guy city where you'll get shot/robbed. Eh...yeah. Good because the artist guy kept the weapons realistic and true to form (recognizable as "Beretta 92F" or "Jericho 941", which is sometimes rare in anime). However, the characters might not be 100% realistic in the way they wield said weapons...but that's to be expected of anime. Also, it's kind of annoying how every foreign language (i.e. not Japanese) gets spoken as English, regardless of whether it's supposed to be Russian or Chinese. I guess it's cheaper to have 1 English speaking Japanese guy, instead of several who speak multiple languages. |

The series centers around a club that caters to the weird fetishes of the girls at Ouran high (e.g. gay twins, an underaged child-boy, a boy who looks like a chick {but secretly IS a chick}, etc.) Regardless, all of the gayness is actually pretty funny |
