Intrigue in the Bakumatsu - Irohanihoheto (TV) Excellent To really enjoy this anime I think one need to have a pretty good knowledge about the historical persons involved in the Bakumatsu. The intrigue is pretty complicated so it helps to watch it over a short period of time (I started with it three times because of that, but it was well worth it)
