Muse Asia Simulcasts The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody, 3 More Anime

Muse Asia announced its spring simulcast schedule on Facebook on Tuesday. It will stream the following anime on YouTube:

  • The anime of Myōjin Katō's The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody (Shijō Saikyō no Daimaō, Murabito A ni Tensei Suru) novel series on April 6 at 6:35 p.m. IST.

  • The television anime of Kakeru Kobashiri's The Dawn of the Witch (Mahōtsukai Reimeiki) light novel series on April 8 at 11:28 a.m. IST.

  • Tthe anime of Keigo Maki's Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie (Kawaii Dake Ja Nai Shikimori-san) romantic comedy manga on April 10 at 11:00 a.m. IST.

  • The second season of Kaginado, the first crossover anime series featuring the franchises by Visual Arts' Key brand, on April 12 at 9:35 p.m. IST.

Muse Asia will stream all four anime in India as well as in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Pakistan. The Dawn of the Witch and Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie will stream in Thailand and Indonesia after a one month delay.

Muse Asia previously announced that it will also simulcast the television anime of Ennki Hakari's Skeleton Knight in Another World (Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechū) light novel series on April 7 at 8:30 p.m. IST.

The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody will premiere on the AT-X channel on April 6 at 9:00 p.m., and it will also run on Tokyo MX, BS NTV, KBS Kyoto, and Sun TV.

Yen Press is publishing the "school heroic fantasy" novel series in English, and it describes the story.

In his past life, he was known as Demon Lord Varvatos, an all-powerful magic user and ruler. But he was lonely after the loss of his friends and loved ones during his rise to power, so in his dying moments, Varvatos cast a reincarnation spell so that he'd get a second chance at just being a normal guy. At first it looks like that's going to work – he's reborn thousands of years later as villager Ard. Unfortunately for him, his memories are still intact and he's not aware just how much has been lost over the time he spent not existing, and it looks like that's going to cost him his normal life.

Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun's Revenge, The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) is directing the anime at studios Silver Link and BLADE. Takayuki Noguchi (Higehiro, Cinderella Nine) is adapting Sao Mizuno's character designs for animation.

Yūshi Ibe (Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Prisma Phantasm) is the assistant director. Michiko Yokote (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!, ReLIFE) is handling series composition. Yoshihiro Watanabe (Interspecies Reviewers) is handling sub-character design. Mahiru Shinya (My First Girlfriend is a Gal) and Azusa Gasai (The Slime Diaries) are in charge of design works. Yūya Yoshiyama is the art director. Hiroshi Yoshikawa (Aria the Animation) is handling the art setting. Haruko Nobori is in charge of color design. Atsushi Sato (BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.) is the cinematographer. Makoto Endo (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) is the 3D director. Yūji Kondо̄ (Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld) is the editor. Takeshi Nakatsuka (Brothers Conflict) is composing the music at Lantis. Noriyoshi Konuma is the sound director.

Ayaka Ohashi performs the opening theme song "Be My Friend!!!," and singer ChouCho performs the ending theme song "reincarnation."

Katō launched the novel series in 2017 with illustrations by Sao Mizuno.

The Dawn of the Witch will premiere on the TBS channel on April 7 at 25:58 (effectively, April 8 at 1:58 a.m.), and it will also run on BS11.

The light novel series is set in the same fantasy world as Kobashiri's (Grimoire of Zero) Zero Kara Hajimeru Mahō no Sho light novel series, now at peace after having endured a conflict between the church and witches for 500 years. However, embers of war still burn in some regions of the world. The story centers on Cervil, a hopeless student at the Kingdom of Wenias' College of Magic. Cervil has somehow lost all memory of his time before attending the college. The school's headmaster Albus sends him for special training to the southern part of the continent, where persecution against witches runs strong.

Satoshi Kuwabara (The Quintessential Quintuplets, Girlfriend, Girlfriend) is directing the anime and handling series composition at Tezuka Productions. Kobashiri and Mayumi Morita (Black Jack 21) are credited for literature. Reina Iwasaki is designing the characters. Minoru Nishida (Yasuke) is in charge of the art setting, and Yumi Aburaya (Adachi and Shimamura) is handling the color design. Wataru Uchida (Conquest) is in charge of editing. Satoshi Motoyama (The irregular at magic high school) is the sound director, and Bit Grooove Promotion is the sound producer. Kobashiri is credited with the original work. Light novel illustrator Takashi Iwasaki is credited for the original character design.

The duo fripSide performs the opening theme song "dawn of infinity," while the ▽▲TRiNITY▲▽ group performs the ending theme song "Imprinting."

Kobashiri launched the novel with the first volume in August 2018. Takashi Iwasaki (Zero Kara Hajimeru Mahō no Sho manga) provides the art, and Zero Kara Hajimeru Mahō no Sho illustrator Yoshinori Shizuma has partial credit for character designs.

The novels are inspring an ongoing manga by Tatsuwo that launched in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in July 2019.

Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie will premiere on Asahi Broadcasting, TV Asahi, and 22 affiliated networks on the ANiMAZiNG!!! block on April 9.

Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English, and it describes the story:

Shikimori seems like the perfect girlfriend: cute, fun to be around, sweet when she wants to be... but she has a cool dark side that comes out under the right circumstances. And her boyfriend Izumi loves to be around when that happens! A fun and funny high school romance with a sassy twist perfect for fans of Nagatoro-san and Komi Can't Communicate!

Ryota Itoh (My Senpai is Annoying) is directing the anime at Doga Kobo, with Shōhei Yamanaka as assistant director. Yoshimi Narita (HappinessCharge Precure, Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart., My Senpai is Annoying) is in charge of the series scripts. Ai Kikuchi (Engaged to the Unidentified, New Game!, How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?) is designing the characters. Nasuo☆ will perform the opening theme song "Honey Jet Coaster" (Honey Roller Coaster), while Yuki Nakashima will perform the ending song "Route BLUE."

Maki launched the ongoing manga on the Magazine Pocket app in February 2019.

The second season of Kaginado will premiere on the Tokyo MX channel on April 12 at 25:00 (effectively, April 13 at 1:00 a.m.), and it will also run on KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, Niigata TV 21, AT-X, BS NTV, Hokuriku Asahi Broadcasting, and Asahi Broadcasting Nagano. It will stream on various services in Japan at the same time as the Tokyo MX broadcast.

The first 12-episode Kaginado anime season premiered on Tokyo MX on October 12.

Kazuya Sakamoto (Tabi-Hani) directed the first season at Liden Films Kyoto Studio. Takashi Aoshima (Rewrite episode script writer) was was the chief writer, and penned the scripts alongside Kai and Tōya Okano. Eriko Haga designed the characters. Kazunari Araki was credited for prop design. Yukihiro Shibutani was the art director, while Asami Kitsukawa was the color designer. Tomoaki Suzuki was the compositing director of photography. Kazuo Kajikawa was credited for editing. Akane Maeda was the sound director. Tohoku Shinsha Studio was credited for sound production. Visual Arts/Key was credited for the music.

The chibi-character anime is a crossover of some of Key's most popular visual novel and anime titles, including Kanon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters!, Rewrite, and planetarian.

Among the franchises in the crossover anime, noted Key writer Jun Maeda wrote the original visual novels for all but Rewrite, and also worked on the music for all of them (including Rewrite).

Kanon debuted in 1999, while Air debuted in 2000, and Clannad in 2004. Kanon had two television anime adaptations: the first by Toei Animation in 2002, and the second by Kyoto Animation in 2006. Kyoto Animation adapted Air into a television anime in 2005 as one of its first full productions as a studio, and Toei Animation also adapted it into an anime film in the same year. Kyoto Animation also animated the 2007 television anime of Clannad.

Little Busters! debuted in 2007, with J.C. Staff's anime adaptation premiering in 2012. Rewrite debuted in 2011, with the television anime by 8 bit premiering in 2016. planetarian also inspired an anime in 2016.
