Dirty Pair (TV)

Have you seen this? want to / seen some / seen all

Alternative title:
Dan et Danny (French)
Kate e Julie (Italian)
ダーティペア (Japanese)
Objectionable content: Significant
Plot Summary: The semi-coherent story of a pair of teenage intergalactic private eyes, Kei and Yuri. Their code name is "Lovely Angels", but they're better known—universe-wide, in fact—as the "Dirty Pair". Their arrival at the scene of a mystery is always a source of hope and dread, since: 1) they always solve the case, 2) wherever they go, something gets horribly wrecked, up to and including entire planets. Lucky for them—but not-so-lucky for the rest of the universe—there are always some sort of extenuating circumstances that support their most often-used phrase, "It's not our fault".

Comment:
Based on the novels by Haruka Takachiho, the Dirty Pair TV series was originally planned to be 26 episodes long but was canceled early after only 24 episodes. The last two were released as the Dirty Pair: From Lovely Angels with Love OAVs.
The original stories have won two Seiun Awards (the Japanese equivalent to the Hugo Award).
Prior to this TV series, Kei and Yuri were first animated for a cameo in the Crusher Joe: The Movie.
