After originally watching the subbed, I could not take many of the needed-to-be-serious moments seriously. Instead, I laughed. The American voice actors they chose don't give an epic performance (what the series demands), so it feels lacking and then the laughing at everything starts because you can't take the characters seriously. Even the titans' yells are different... Mehhh. SO, YEAH! I'm eagerly awaiting the 2nd season :D |

I appreciated the non-intro-intro way of them telling/showing the viewers what goes on in this world of their's. That definitely saved them points. It was also quite comical; I gave in to a few fits of giggles during some of the episodes^_^ Not to mention, it's only 12 episodes, so it'll only 'waste' about 6 hours of your time while you try to figure out what 'the next Bleach' or what-have-you is. :) |

| Brothers Conflict (TV) | Episodes 1&2: I can just tell that this will be awesome...and very interesting. I'm rooting for Yuusuke cuz he just seems perfect for her:) Although Subaru, Natsumae, and Futo aren't bad choices either, I just really like Yuusuke>< Episode 3: Wedding episode! Some funky stuff's about to go down! Nothing too serious happens in this one, but POOR YUUSUKE!!!!!! He saw her first (#1) and he's having the worst time trying to handle his crush and her becoming his step-sister... give him a break everyone, PLEASE???!!! Fuuto is even starting to make a move that just doesn't make sense considering his earlier behavior... Anyway, everyone's been introduced and Natsumae figures out Subaru's crush on Ema...notices in the family picture of all places!!!!! Can someone say BUSTED??? Episode 4: The ONE GUY I didn't want her having anything to do with!!!! Natsumae looks like he's sweet on her, WHY NOT HIM!?!?!?!?! Holy fucking SHIT!!!!!! WTFH why did there have to be a witness!!!! Tsubaki, I'm gonna kill you. Episode 5: Who am I gonna kill next??? SUBARU!!!!! WTF were you thinking putting her on the spot after your game like that. Too fast & too furious for poor Ema to take in. Especially when Natsumae comes in at the hyper-critical moment and saves her from answering with the toughest question: "are you going out with Subaru?" Best answer she could've given -and gave: "I don't know anymore...[weren't we just supposed to be siblings?]". Regardless of his feelings for Ema, Natsume makes the decision to back off (even though, he seemed to be QUITE jealous when those two showed up together after she went to get more drinks for the little family picnic they had at the park -it really was coincidental). He's such a great guy, how the hell did he manage to be the triplet of Azuza and Tsubaki???? Episode 6: It's really heating up... The identical twins have staked identical claims (neither will allow the other to get close to Ema). Natsumae is still fighting to stay on the sidelines and chooses not to answer Subaru's pointed question (good choice). Fuuto is made a very spirited move towards Ema...as did Azuza when Tsubaki got a TAD forceful when he got jealous of Ema's treasuring the brothers' pictures x_x Will there ever be an end???? Where's Luis when you need him?!?!?! And poor Yuusuke is left in the dark, but notices the change between Subaru and Ema after the bball game.... Hopefully, he'll be brought up to speed next week>< I'm rooting for you Yuusuke!!!!!! Episode 7: Yuusuke is doing well getting close to Ema by just being normal around her, not pushy (and no thanks to Fuuto). Fuuto is starting to get more aggressive Episode 8: Azuza has declared himself and will not steer clear of Tsubaki (like he usually does). This is regardless of the fact that he has meningitis>< Episode 9: AAAAAHHHHHHHH NATSUMAE!!!!!!!!!! WHY MUST YOU BE SO AWESOME?!?!?! He has just raised the stakes by basically declaring himself to Ema while trying to tell her that she is very important to everyone regardless of how she came to be in this family (she was adopted by her father after her parents passed). I know I've been torn between Yuusuke and Natsumae, but now it's like super serious! Everyone but Yuusuke's stepping up his game trying to win her heart and I don't know when he's finally gonna realize how crazy this race has become:/ Luis gets some serious face time in this episode, too. He and Juli proclaim themselves the 'Protect Chi Club' and further help her come to terms with her newfound past. It really was just what she needed Episode 10: IT'S OFFICIAL! Ema has 7 guys after her!!!! The only one who's given her no inclination that he's in the fight is Yuusuke -and that just makes him all the more cuter and gentlemanly>< xD Kaname begins to make moves and I'm just not a fan of him or his buddies...not that he isn't a decent guy, just way too cavalier for Ema's good. | |

| Hana Yori Dango [2005] (live-action TV) | Also watched the 25 episode Korean live-action series, but I like this one better. It follows the manga better (not that I've read it, but wikipedia seemed pretty good with this one) and the lead characters are much more aesthetically pleasing...the other 3 I'd've switched with the Korean actors XD. Not to mention the theme music was BY FAR much less annoying than the Korean one... Also, the Korean one seems a bit more fantastical considering that Yuki and the guy she helps have their own subplot. As much as I liked it -I really did, it had nothing to do with the manga. The ending of the 2nd season of Hana Yori Dango was ridiculous in it's own right, but the anime (and Korean live-action) had a really weird ending, too... Don't know what it is with this particular story (the directors seem to love taking liberties with this one), but the Japanese one was definitely the most Cinderella-like. So, with all other things considered, Hana Yori Dango is much better than the others and I'll recommend it first before the others most def. | |

| K: Return of Kings (TV) | Masterpiece | This was epic!!! While Season 1 focused mainly on HOMRA's dynamic and the mystery of Shino, I really enjoyed getting to know Scepter 4's characters better. Just the overall character development was excellently done. The social/political values could not be ignored (by me) and added a very poignant element to the overall story. If there was room for a third season, I'd say "go for it", but the ending was very final. Thus, I shall have to renew my search for my next great binge. WATCH IT!!! |

This latest episode rubs me the wrong way because of how the 2 female protagonists are portrayed: headstrong, impulsive and carry out rash plans of action that earn them the condemnation of their male counterparts. Not very happy about that...actually quite disappointed. It emphasizes how backwards the alien race is regardless of having superior weaponry/technology at their disposal. That is all for now. Ep 15: and again, with the severe punishment of the women for their failure as a follow up to last episode's chauvinism...The men didn't have that fate since they live by "kill or be killed", so it seems they want to mete out a punishment to make the women wish they had fought to the death. As you can see, this really rubs me the wrong way Finished: Okay ending. Not really depressing, not happy ever after. Decent/realistic |

The characters' relationship may be the main focus, but I found that it provided much needed somewhat-over-the-top comic relief to the main plot: the serious threat to (more like the actual endangerment of) freedom of speech/expression especially through printed media. |

Ep9-15 This is going way too slow for my liking, but my hopes are gunning for answers next episode. If they aren't there, I just might drop the show. It had potential...what the hell were they thinking?!?!?! Ep16 Finally!!!!!! Everything is starting to make a twisted sort of sense!!!!! Not sure what I should be thinking anymore, but this is better than the rest of the episodes combined. The audience is not kept in the dark anymore as to what's happened and I'm very happy, but still wary as to what's in store...doesn't look like anything good. Ep17 I want that girl to get her head examined!!!!!!!!! She's manic! |

And then, all of these little tidbits that are kept from the "twins" for the stupid purpose of "There's nothing for you to worry about. Just give birth to the miko." Like the miko would solve the world's problems the instant it was born. HA! Also don't appreciate the manga still running while the anime is created-___- On the story itself, it's reminiscent of Bleach, M3: The Dark Metal, and something I can't think of at the moment. Sigh. Ep 49: Well, that was quite a ride... Not really appreciating the morphed/tainted/corrupt version of Senmei they created. It makes for a serious plot twist, but a bit over the top. Still like the plot tho. Very interested in seeing the ending. |
