take a look at nitrorcman189's Manga

Some animes don't have a comment, but the ones that do will have a very brief overview and opinion of the show. Opinions will differ throughout different shows, as I usually gravitate towards my favorite genres/themes. Please note that I am not a professional reviewer, or critic, so take my ratings and overall opinions on these anime's with a grain of salt. Shows are rated on the 1.0/10 scale.

5 Centimeters Per Second (movie) Excellent
86 (TV) Excellent WOW! Such a well executed story, amazing art/animation and a well rounded cast of characters! Episode two really hooked me into the world of 86. I usually watch other 4 other anime shows, I'll watch an episode or two of something and watch an episode or two of another show. However with 86, I just couldn't, because each episode was so well written and beautifully told. Honestly though, this anime is such a breath of fresh air, compared to the regular main stream show we usually get. This anime deals with issues such as propaganda, death, having no power to change the system, etc. I also love how this show uses spider like mecha's instead of the traditional humanoid type, as it really stands out from other mecha shows. The English dub was also very well done! Overall, 8.8/10. Feb-2022
86 (TV 2) Excellent Fantastic second season to this well made anime. Picking off where season one left off, the middle, climax, and ending are all so well done! I did watch the English dub, and that was very well made. Also, THE MUSIC IS SO WELL DONE!! I haven't heard a soundtrack this well done in quite a while! The storyline, much like the first season, is emotional, heart wrenching at times, but also beautiful and full of life. 86 does something that most mecha anime's don't do, and that is connecting the characters to the audiance. Many mecha shows revolve the entire story around the mecha itself, and hardly give the characters any proper backstory and just focus on fighting. Yet, 86 doesn't do that, it shows the hardships of war, how propaganda can brainwash a population, the loss of a friend in battle, etc. Going back to the episodes in general, because the last two episodes were delayed quite a bit, I was waiting for quite a while for season 2 episodes 11 and 12 to come out in English. So instead I switched to subbed for those last two episodes. With that being said, both the Japanese and English VA's sound amazing, so pick which one suits your tastes! While the ending was very satisfying, 86 can without a doubt have a 3rd season or more. The light novels have a boat load more to the story, and the anime only covered so much. Hopefully, funding goes through for another season, as I much prefer a mecha anime like this, rather than the typical humanoid robot types. Overall, 8.9/10. May-2022
Absolute Duo (TV) Decent Not bad. Wish it had been better though with a more compelling story and better character dialog/development. The action though was pretty good and probably the only best thing out of this anime. The theme song was pretty good. All in all, wished it was better and the creators would put more effort into the story line. 6.7/10
Accel World (TV) Very good
Ah! My Goddess (TV) Very good Pretty good, but compared to the original OVA, I do think it's lacking in some aspects. For one the music in the OVA was quite unique and very fitting to the show, while in this one, it seems a bit too generic. Also, the art style is much different as in the original it looks very organic while in this one, it seems generic. Mostly due to the fact that anime studios were switching from hand drawn to computer drawn art for budget savings and simplicity. For the major differences between the two, Keiichi wishes for Belldandie to be his girlfriend in the OVA, while in this adaption he wishes her to be by his side. Don't know why the studio choose that word play, as it worked out fine in the original OVA. Also, Sayoko Mishima, while getting very little screen time, in the OVA she was quite flirty towards Keiichi and even wanted him as a boyfriend. However in the 2005 adaption, she is quite stuck up as a snotty rich girl. These aren't deal breakers, as the 2005 adaption is still quite good. The dubbing is quite good too. Some episodes do drag on the plot as a 15 or 20 episode anime would have been a bit more appropriate. Overall. 7.8/10 Jan-2022
Ah! My Goddess: The Movie Good A pretty good continuation of the original anime. This movie does give some back story of the main character Belldandy and how she became a goddess first class and why she decided to visit Earth. The sound track is very good and is one of the high points of the entire show, although I do wish the story itself was a bit more refined. As for the English dubbing, while it was quite good, I was a bit put off by Morisato's VA as well as Urd's VA. While both did a very good job for the role, the voices don't really fit the characters that much. Mary Elizabeth did the voice of Urd and while she has a very beautiful and refined voice, it just doesn't fit Urd all that well. Still, the English is good. Overall, 7.3/10. Jan-2022.
Air (TV) Very good Very good anime, though I wish the story was worked on more to explain the different situations in each episode, but this was Key Studio's second anime as they were just getting started on making shows based on there visual novels. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it and if you have already watched Key's other anime's, you should definitely give this one a watch. 8/10
Aishiteruze Baby (TV) Very good
Akira (movie) Very good Man what a ride! The entire movie has you on the edge of your seat and does not stop until the end. The ending was a bit off, kinda like evangelion but other than that, it was a great movie. The animation is fantastic. I first though the show was made in the mid 90's, but nope, it was made in 88. That makes it even more interesting, as most animes in that time had a very basic art direction. In Akira, the animation is fluid, detailed and conveys emotions, which is what many animes in the 80's had trouble with due to budget limitations. The setting which takes place in neo-tokyo screams cyberpunk! The name itself is a great indication of the setting. The story can be easy to understand, but many people might be puzzled with the ending as it can be a bit weird for some. Some say that the dub was good for it time, but not great by today's standards. I just watched the subtitled version. Overall 8.3/10 Oct-2020
Amagi Brilliant Park (TV) Very good
(The) Ambition of Oda Nobuna (TV) Very good Such a great historical anime, with a slight twist in the plot. It is a harem anime, but unlike the majority of harems, the main character actually has courage and does not have an IQ below 60. He is smart, cunning and knows how to win fights. He does have his harem/romance moments, but they are perfectly placed in the right moment and not within the heat of a battle/climax scene. The sound track of this anime is very good, and takes on the rock and roll genre. My only compliant is after the credits at the very end of the show, we see a new enemy rival, leading to believe that there will be another season. The show never really got too popular for another season in Japan, as DVD sales were probably not great. Also this show was released in 2012, and 7 years later as of writing this, I highly doubt there will be another season. Would be nice though. Overall 8.4/10. Dec-2019
Angel Beats! (TV) Excellent
Animal Crossing (movie) Very good A well made video game movie for the Animal Crossing Wild World franchise. It's sweet, whole hearted, calming and quite enjoyable to watch, just like the actual game. The story line is quite basic but enjoyable. Ai goes to an animal village to become a more independent person. While she is there, Ai makes friends, does work for Tom Nook and enjoys life inside of the animal village. The movie does have quite a lot of stuff related to the actual game. For instant when arriving at the town, you have to work for Nook right away. Which is what Ai does. The movie also has festivals and events, for Ai and the villagers to enjoy. Before watching this movie, I read some professional reviews stating that this "movie was boring". I honestly don't know what they have stuck up their butts, but the movie is quite relaxing and fun to watch. Sadly, the movie never got any real attention outside of Japan. Ask any non Japanese Animal Crossing fan that the game has a movie adaption, and most likely they will be shocked in surprise. Because this movie is quite underrated, a second movie will most likely never happen. I would be cool to see a new leaf movie though. Overall 7.6/10. Recommended if you are a fan of the game.
anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (TV) Excellent
Appleseed (movie) Very good It was a pretty good movie, although it does have some minor plot holes. Any cyberpunk/si-fi can enjoy this. What's really impressive is the CGI as not only does it hold up well today, but it was made in 2004! That itself is very impressive. The movie itself is really making both the viewer and the characters in the movie decide whether or not mankind needs another highly advanced species to help us from annihilating each-other and while it does a not too bad of a job doing it, it's still an enjoyable film. The original English dub is also quite good. Overall 8.0/10 Sep-2020
Appleseed: Ex Machina (movie) Very good Much like the first film Appleseed, the CGI is very impressive but much more refined. This is what anime companies should set the standard to, if they wish to do a CGI anime. Story is quite simple much like the first, although it isn't as in depth as some other sifi animes. However the action is very well done, so it makes up for that. The English dubbing is also very well done. Some say that this is a different story line to that of the first movie, however it's best to watch the first Appleseed before proceeding to this movie. Overall, 7.8/10 Jan-2021
Aria the Animation (TV) Very good Absolutely loved it. It's so calming, peaceful and relaxing to watch this anime. Once in awhile, I like to take a break from the testosterone filled run-and-gun action anime's and take a break to shows like this every now and then. Aria does have a plot, but it's not as major as other shows. However, because the way the show is directed their is no need for a huge or a typically sized plot. Which is perfectly fine because of how relaxing it is. The Dub is also surprisingly good. I'm also surprised the show got an official dub 12 years after an it's initial release. And again, it's good! 8.4/10 Feb-2019
Armitage III (OAV) Very good What a great show! It's a cyberpunk anime from the 90's but instead of taking place on Earth, it's on Mars. That itself makes the show really special, as not a lot of anime's have a setting on Mars let alone outside of Earth. The story itself does require some brain storming, but can be easy to understand for more tech savy persons. The sound track is amazing, as much of it is a mixture of electronic and rock and roll. Also, the English dub is actually pretty good and does make the show ever more special. Really wish there were more cyberpunk anime's such as this one. It's really a shame that not a lot of anime's deal with the cyberpunk genre. Overall 8.5/10 Sep-2020
Armitage: Dual-Matrix (movie) Good A good movie sequel to the Armitage OVA anime. While the movie was good, the story line was quite lacking compared to the original OVA, as well as character dialog and other aspects. However that does not mean the movie is bad, just not as good as the OVA. The background of the movie was really well done, such as cars moving, people talking, as well as sound effects playing in the background. The dub was also really good too. Overall, 7.7/10. Sep-2021
Assassination Classroom (TV) Very good Quite a good anime. Simple plot, but great characters and funny comedic moments. The dub is also very good. I also watched parts of the sub and it's also quite good, so watch which ever you choose. I did feel that the character Ritsu was forced into the show, as she rarely got any screen time compared to the rest of her classmates. She had one full episode, then after that she barely had any screen time. Other than that, it was an enjoyable show. Overall 8/10. Jan-2020
Assassination Classroom (TV 2) Very good Great second season, with a final closure to this show. It has a great beginning, middle and a strong ending to bring the show to an end. I would usually prefer and OVA or two after the main story line, but in the case of Assassination Classroom, I actually don't want too. Mostly because the ending was just that good, and having anymore story line past the ending would ruin the ending a bit. Also, like in the first season, the second season's English Dubbing was great! I really liked Koro sensei's, Nagisa and Karma's VA. Overall 8.4/10 Apr-2020
Assemble Insert (OAV) Very good Short yet funny and fun to watch. Granted, it's a parody of other anime shows of the 80's and 70's but it was still funny and fun to watch today in 2021. Art style is very basic, even for the late 80's but honestly it doesn't even matter as the show does just fine for such a simplistic art style and character design. The only downside is that the anime is only 2 episodes, which is quite normal for an OVA made in the 80's. However, 4 episodes would have been a bit better. Overall 7.7/10 Dec-2021
Astra Lost in Space (TV) Good It's good, but I'd be lying if I wasn't disappointment. The story itself needed quite a bit of re-enforcement, as many plot elements made zero sense. For an example, the future setting in this anime is way too idealistic to the point where the show itself is almost pushing it's ideas on myself. Seriously, a one world government, complete world piece and the ban on all weapons to prevent conflict? Oh, so why are there still police, a military and government agencies? Also, surprises in this anime don't actually fell like surprises. I could see it from a mile away. The anime starts off promising, but as the episodes go on, it slowly falls apart. The last few episodes seemed quite interesting, until the characters explained what was going on. Then it was just a mesh mess of a plot. Also, Spoiler (if the technology is so advanced, to the point where wormholes can be created and ships can travel faster than light, why couldn't the asteroid be diverged from hitting Earth? Again, sadly, plot holes.) Well, the English dub was alright. And the animation was good. If this show was about the students uncovering the government, exposing the truth and all of it's wrong doing's, it would have made for a pretty good conspiracy theory anime. Overall, 7/10. Feb-2023
B Gata H Kei - Yamada’s First Time (TV) Very good Hilarious, sexual and very entertaining! I got to say, Yamada can be very complicated at times, but also pretty funny. Yamada's main goal was to have sex with Kosuda, as she wanted him to "pop her cherry". Then after that, she wanted to have sex with 100 men. She was quite slutty and skanky at times, but over the course of the show, she as gotten much more into Kosuda as her boyfriend rather than just a sex partner. Also Kosuda's reactions to Yamada's sexual actions, are quite realistic. The English dub was very good and I would even recommend watching it dubbed, as many of the jokes translate very well into English. Brittney Karbowski does a fantastic job voicing Yamada, but I do feel her voice is a bit to pure for a person such as Yamada. In any case, I enjoyed the English dub very much. Overall, 8.3/10 Oct-2019
B: The Beginning (ONA) Very good Pretty good. It wasn't fantastic nor was is bad, but it was enjoyable to watch. There are some issues though that kinda kills the mood with this show. Firstly, the main character being a bit one dimensional does make some scenes a bit tedious to watch. I wish he would develop more as a person the more the anime went on. Secondly, I'll keep this spoiler free, many characters are killed off way too soon. For the one who were killed and had very little screen time, you have to ask yourself, why were they even in the show at all? Lastly, some time skips can be hella confusing. It's hard to explain but imagine seeing the MC in a location in one instant, then in the next scene, he is somewhere completely different. Giving the audience no sense of direction on where he was going too. However, the story was quite good, as well as the english dubbing. Music was a really nice change of pace especially the ending song. Overall, 7.8/10 Mar-2022.
Baccano! (TV) Very good
Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts (TV) Very good
Bakemonogatari (TV) Very good Very good and well produced show. The dialog is outstanding in the show, but can get confusing if you don't know what they are talking about. I can only recommend this anime if you have been watching anime for a while, or know some Japanese folk lore as characters do mention it when speaking to each other. Other than that, 8/10. Oct-2018
Banner of the Stars (TV) Very good Its pretty good for what it is. The general direction of the show follows just like the first season, which is the enemy's point of view (The Empire of Abh). This show is pretty good because it has an imaginary setting to it, and does not seem 100% realistic. I would have a VERY different opinion, if it portrayed itself as a realistic show and had a real scenario setting. A foreign entity taking over mankind in this show just seems way too casual and easy. If it were real, nukes, missiles, and everything you can imagine would be used to protect earth from the Empire of Abh. But this anime does not portray it self to be a "this could happen tomorrow" or "what if an alien empire took over?" type show. So I'll let it slide. I do think it's ignorant to blame the entirety of Humanity, that the Abh's are doing. Basically, the Abh's are taking over the enitiry of Earth, because a small group of people genetically made them to be slaves and survive long amounts of time in space. The battles can be a bit confusing, as sometimes there is so much action, you can't tell what is going on. And this happens quite often when the show starts to ramp up. Overall 7.4/10. Dec-2018
Basilisk (TV) Very good One of the greatest Japanese historical themed animes! The art style is truly breath taking and very unique. The story is not light hearted at all, as there is plenty of blood, death and tragedy in this show. Also, with each character having some sort of ability, it not only makes the story line more interesting but also adds another level to the fighting scenes and character interaction. Overall 8.5/10 Aug-2020
BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad (TV) Very good Great music show about a band trying to make it big! It definitely felt a bit realistic, in terms of music and the reality of making your own band. The pacing in the beginning was quite slow and kinda off. I almost dropped this anime because of it and because Koyuki kept getting bullied and didn't stand up for him self, but I kept trucking along and it was worth it. The show takes a while to get good, as episodes 1-8 are quite slow, but once you get to episode 12, it's well worth it. Final episodes are undoubtedly the best in the anime. The English dub was also excellent! The performances from the VA's felt very natural. Overall, 8.2/10. Dec-2022
Berserk (TV 1997) Very good A very well made anime. The show is quite faithful to the manga, but does leave out some scenes from the manga due to a budget. The ending was a very big cliff hanger, but since the golden arc movies are out, I can go straight to them. The sound track is amazing and the dub is very well made as well. Overall 8.4/10. Dec-2017
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King (movie) Very good Not too bad of a movie. I still prefer the 1997 anime, but the movie is still good nevertheless. Obviously since it is only an hour long, many scenes from the original anime had to be cut out. The 3D CGI wasn't too bad either, but I wish the movie just stuck to the traditional 2D animation style. Oh, and most of the original English voice actors from the 97 anime are in the movie. Which is a plus for me. Overall 8/10.
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc II - The Battle for Doldrey (movie) Very good A pretty good movie to the anime. They left out some important details from the anime, but extended some short scenes from the anime as well. I honestly wish the movie was an hour longer to add in the important details and extended scenes. Overall 8/10.
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III - The Advent (movie) Very good
Birdy the Mighty (OAV) Good Pretty good anime! I tried to watch the English dub but the voice acting wasn't that great, and sounded like they recorded in a closet. So I switched the the Japanese dub. Animation is pretty standard for when this show was released and the story, while short, is still good. Although I do think the ending was a bit rushed. Overall, 7.5/10. Oct-2023
Birdy the Mighty Decode: The Cipher (OAV) Good A good ova for the decode. Really not much adding to the story, since there is another season, but it's a good watch nevertheless. Overall, 7.7/10. Oct-2023
Birdy the Mighty Decode:02 (TV) Very good A great sequel to the Decode series of Birdy the Mighty. Season one of Decode was quite nice and layered the ground work for Birdy the Mighty. Season two really takes it up a notch with the fighting, action and story. Season two is also more violent and gory, as it actually shows blood and limbs being torn off, as well as death. My one major complaint would honestly have to be the animation during intensive fighting scenes with a lot of moving. Other than that, season two was great! There has to be a season three to continue the story! Overall, 8.3/10 Dec-2023
Birdy the Mighty: Decode (TV) Very good The original was good, but Birdy the Mighty Decode was much better! The author basically took the original manga, and reworked it, ironing out the details and getting a better story out of it. Decode is basically just an alternative retelling of the original OVA. There is way more context to the story itself, Birdy and Tsutomu are more fleshed out and the overall show is much more enjoyable. The first couple of episodes are great, and have some well done fight scenes. Although, the show does seem to run a bit dry from time to time after the first few episodes. Nevertheless, Birdy the Mighty Decode is still a great show. The overall sifi aspect is also a great touch. Unlike the original OVA, Decode has a proper English dub and it's quite good! Overall, 8.0/10. Oct-2023
Black Bullet (TV) Very good
Black Cat (TV) Good Not bad. Could have been better but it was good. Honestly, one of the reasons why I watched this show was that the original creator also made the well known series To Love Ru. While Black Cat is a good show, I do feel that the plot was a bit dragged on in some episodes and that 12 or 15 episodes would have been better instead of 24. The English dub is the high point of this show as it is quite well done. Overall, 7.3/10 Nov-2021
Black Lagoon (TV) Excellent
Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail (OAV) Very good
Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage (TV) Excellent
Black Magic M-66 (OAV) Good A pretty good short SiFi anime about a killer robot on the lose. The story is very simple, and the action is pretty good as well. Nothing complex, as anyone with an interest in cyberpunk/SiFi can easily enjoy this. The English dubbing cast was also pretty good as well. Overall 7.4/10. Jun-2021
Blame! (movie) Very good A very interesting and enjoyable movie. The world building in Blame! is very fascinating, as well as the plot. The dialog could use some work, as well as the ending. I personally didn't like the time skipped ending, as the original villagers finding a new home while searching for the net terminal gene would have made for a great second movie. However, with that said, I do hope another movie comes out for this franchise, as Blame! has much potential in world building and plot. Overall, 8.2/10. Nov-2022
BNA: Brand New Animal (TV) Good Honestly, not bad, but man I would be lying if I said that I was a bit let down. I was expecting BNA to be fun, over the top goofy action much like trigger's past anime Kill La Kill. Instead, it was an anime with a simple story line, taking on a complex topic too much for the story itself to handle. The poor dialog and transitions in some of the scenes don't help that much, and to make it worse, one of the main characters is incompetent. Shirou only arrests people if he catches them in the act of a crime, which is horrible police work as a whole. Not only that, but his arguments against humans is just laughable as he can't back up his statements. He just gets angry and ignores anyone who opposes him. Now at least Michiru was a likable character. She is reasonable, see's things on both sides and most importantly, isn't incompetent. The animation was good in my book, but nothing outstanding like in Trigger's past shows (Kill la Kill). BNA also has' it's funny, cute and wholesome moments. The English dubbing for BNA was very good. Everyone sounded great. Overall, good show, just disappointed in the end result. 7.2/10 Jun-2022
Bocchi the Rock! (TV) Very good A great slice of life anime! Even though this is within the music category, not every episode is about the girls playing or making a song. Some episodes are about them just goofing around or having fun, hence why this is a slice of life anime. The music, especially the guitar, is great! Having a socially awkward introvert as the main character is quite refreshing to see, since most of us who do indulge in anime are introverted. The depiction of Boochi herself is quite realistic, being afraid of talking to people, but also wanting to have a small group of friends. I liked Boochi's little episodes/daydreams as it gave her character. I was expecting this show to be more about music, such as making songs/preforming shows, but I'm not too disappointed about it. Overall great anime! 8.2/10. Feb-2023
Bodacious Space Pirates (TV) Very good Another underrated anime show that should get more attention. I liked the idea of space pirates, as is combines science fiction (space ships, laser cannons, worm holes, etc.) with good old fashion pirates. The show does have some plot holes, as well as some cliched moments but the anime was still pretty enjoyable. The anime does have action with ships fighting each other with laser cannons and other futuristic weapons, but it is not the "in your face" type action and seems pretty toned down. Wished the fighting scenes had more adrenaline and action. Also, there is yuri but don't get your hopes up, as the amount of it is very low. Only about 15 minutes of yuri is in the entire show. Again, wish there was more yuri romance content. Overall, give it a watch if you are interested. It takes awhile for the show to gain speed, so don't drop it so soon. 7.8/10
Bubblegum Crisis (OAV) Very good Such a great cyberpunk show. Love the music and the setting of this anime. The atmosphere really captures what people in the 80's would think the year 2033 would look like. Is so unique and visual pleasing to see. It's eye candy if you would all it that. Really not much else to say, as you if you are a big cyberpunk fan or a fan of classic anime's in general, you need to see this. Overall 8.2/10 Jun-2020
Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 (TV) Very good What a great remake of the classic 1980's bubblegum crisis! While the original was great for it's action and music, 2040 adds much more story, character development and expands on the plot. 2040's music is also really great and adds to the overall style of the show. The characters in 2040 are different than the original 1980's bubble gum crisis, as they are much more refined and have more backstory to them, compared to the original 1980 version. As for the Dub, ADV as always does a great job with the English cast. 2040 sounded great in English! The last story arc did feel a bit unfinished, as a sequel would have been expected. However, due to ADV's closure, the planed 2041 sequel that ADV was producing was shelved indefinitely. It would have been nice to have a sequel to this amazing and wonderful world of bubblegum crisis! Overall 8.6/10 Jul-2020
Burn The Witch (movie) Good This anime has potential to be something great, but as of now it's just ok. Calling this a movie is very misleading, as it's actually just a three episode anime, each one going for about 25 minutes. I was honestly expecting this to be an actual hour and a half long movie, or when seeing the episode count, being a 45 minutes long with three episodes. Like I said, this show has something going for it but it just wasn't executed as I though it would be. I was expecting more lore and more back bone to the story and environment. Instead, it was just a thin layer of plot with almost nothing going for it, expect for killing dragons aspect. For character, all of them were great, expect for Balgo Parks as he is just there and not really doing much for the show. Oh and this is some how suppose to be related to or have relations with Bleach, and I honestly just don't see it. Well, the English dub was pretty good and the animation was the saving grace for the show. So it wasn't a total time waster. I'm just a bit disappointed that this show didn't offer more. Maybe if the creator does a proper season, then we can finally see something out of this. But for now, it's not. Overall, 6.8/10. Dec-2023
Castlevania (U.S. ONA) Very good Technically speaking, this isn't an anime as this produced and recorded in the United States. Which really surprised me, as many would think this show would have been made in Japan. While the quality is not on par with other high budget shows from Japan, for a company that just started producing big budget animations I have to give them full credit. Story is quite simple, yet so entertaining that I kept wanting more. The voice actors are very good, and since it was produced in the US, I had to watch it English dubbed. It was somewhat hard to understand Trevor in the first season, as his VA did mumble sometimes. However in the second season, this issue is resolved. While the first season was only four episodes, the second season has eight and gives us plenty to feast on. I can't wait for the third season. Overall 8.5/10 Oct-2019 Writing here for season three until ANN makes a separate page for it. Season 3 was a little bit slowly paced, but the last few episodes are well worth it. The animation is slightly improved on the action scenes, so that is a plus. What's really interesting is that there are four separate story lines in this show, showing Trevor, Alucard, Issac and Hector's continued plot line from season 2. Again, it takes time for everything to build up, but the last few episodes are worth it alone! Overall it's great! 8.55/10 Sep-2020
Cat Planet Cuties (TV) Very good
Cat Planet Cuties (OAV) Good
A Certain Magical Index (TV) Very good
A Certain Magical Index II (TV) Very good A good squeal to the index series. And the Dub is quite good too! 7.9/10
A Certain Scientific Railgun (TV) Very good Enjoyed it very much. In fact, I enjoyed it more then index. I don't know why but railgun seems to captivate my interest and attention much more then index. The dub was also pretty damn solid too. It's nice seeing a English dub studio properly cast characters for an anime. Overall 7.8/10
A Certain Scientific Railgun S (TV) Very good I did enjoy this anime very much. I do have a minor complaint such as the main plot of the show ending around episode 18, then a new plot emerging. However, they studio does do a good job at merging two plots in one season. The Dub much like before, is pretty good. Overall 7.9/10 May-2019
A Certain Scientific Railgun T (TV 3) Very good A solid continuation of the railgun series. The outcome was sorta predicable, but the story itself was enjoyable to watch. Sound track is quite catchy. Much like with S, the second season, the main story stops at episode 16 then a new plot line forms. Episode 17 through 25 felt like an OVA, but it was still enjoyable to watch. Dub as always was really good! Overall 8.0. Aug-2023
Chaika - The Coffin Princess (TV) Very good
Chaika - The Coffin Princess Avenging Battle (TV) Very good I feet that the second season was a little but too rushed but nevertheless still pretty good.
Chainsaw Man (TV) Excellent Fantastic anime adaption of the manga! The anime does use 3d cgi, but it integrates it so well, it fits the show like a glove. Goes to show that if you embrace 3d cgi and use it correctly, you get amazing results. The English dub for this was also fantastic! Loved Denji's VA as well as Power's VA. The ending music was also great too, as it had a different ending song for each episode. Overall, 8.7/10. Jan-2023
Charlotte (TV 2015) Very good I expected nothing less from Key Studios, though I do wish the show was at least 20-25 episodes long rather than 13 episodes, but nevertheless still a must watch. The story line is defiantly an emotion coaster during the middle of the anime. Characters are very likable as well as the story. 8.1/10
Chobits (TV) Very good
Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren Lite (ONA) Good
Clannad (TV) Excellent A very funny and dramatic anime. Most people think that this first season is boring and a waste of time and to those I say "Who put you on this planet?!" I very much liked and enjoyed the first season and it starts off one of the best anime series Key studios has ever made. 8.3/10
Clannad After Story (TV) Masterpiece Lost for words. One of the best animes I have ever seen. 9.5/10
Claymore (TV) Very good Great story, amazing characters and great sound track. The dub was really well made too. I loved Clare's backstory with Teresa, as it shows more depth to Clare and gives some insight on why she joined the organization. My only complaint is the anime did rush the ending compared to the manga. Also the Manga ends around chapter 143 while the anime leaves off at around chapter 70 or so. The anime can continue, but who knows when it will be picked up again. Overall, 8.5/10 Aug-2019
Corpse Party: Tortured Souls (OAV) Good It's an horror anime, and a pretty damn gruesome one at that. The story is simple, but honestly it could have been a bit longer. It's only four episodes, each at 25 minutes long. Six episodes would have been much better. The ending has a lot left to be desired and could of concluded the story a bit better. But despite all of that at least the horror was good, and can make the average person feel uncomfortable. The gore, blood and amount of violence does make the show interesting in the horror aspect. I certainly felt uneasy with some scenes, but nothing to keep me awake at night. Maybe it's just me. What I really don't like the the characters have that cliche "horror cast" intelligence in almost every horror film/TV series. As in, they act stupid or do something stupid that gets them or someone else killed. If the characters were a bit smarter, this show would have been a bit better. Overall, not bad if you want something a bit spooky, but don't expect anything over the top. 7.3/10 Nov-2020
Cowboy Bebop (TV) Excellent
Crest of the Stars (TV) Very good
Cross Game (TV) Excellent Definitely a much watch for any into sports or not. Even if you don't like sports, you'll still highly enjoy this anime. I'm not into sports that much, but after watching this I may watch a baseball game or two. The games in this show leave you on the edge of your chair, and are really exciting to watch. I also really enjoyed the cross game quizzes and nomu drawings at the beginning of the show. Man, I wish there was an OVA or two, but sadly there won't be. Unlike most shows, this anime starts off really strong and interesting. Overall 8.8/10 Aug-2018
Cyber City Oedo 808 (OAV) Very good A classic cyberpunk anime! While it's only 3 episodes, each one is around 45 minutes long. The story isn't too complex, so anyone with an interest in cyberpunk will easily enjoy this show. I do wish there were more episodes, as the last one did leave room for another continuation into the story. Overall 8.3/10 Oct-2020
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (ONA) Excellent One of the best video game anime adaptions to date! The first episode was a little difficult to get into, as the slang used was from the video game and not from our universe. However the anime gets better and better by each passing episode. Rebeca has to be my favorite character, even though she doesn't get much screen time. Her English voice actor does the part too, as I really enjoyed watching CP Edgerunners in English! The anime takes place before the video game, so it's up to you whether or not to watch this before or after you complete the game. Also, usually with anime's with only 10 episodes, I'd want another season or even some extra OVA. However Cyberpunk Edgerunners has satisfied my tastes. So 10 episodes maybe a bit short, but it's perfect for this anime. Overall, fantastic anime! 8.6/10. Sep-2022
Darker than Black (TV) Very good Pretty good action anime. Nice characters, good story line and a good amount of comedy from time to time. The anime does take time to build up tension. Overall, its a good action anime to enjoy anytime. The Dub voice acting is really good as well. 8.1/10
Darker than Black - Kuro no Keiyakusha: Gaiden (OAV) Very good A very well made prequel. This OVA takes place between season one and two. Before watching Gemini (season two) I recommend watching this OVA first as the story will be far less confusing. DTB->OVA->Gemini. I watched in broadcast order which was DTB->Gemini->OVA. As for the OVA itself, it was very good and I highly enjoyed it. 8/10
Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor (TV) Very good Way more feels in the second season during the end of the last episode. For the first episode, I was pretty confused, in terms of the story line, as no one explained the transition from the first season to the second season. But, after a couple of episodes it made sense and definitely grabbed my attention. In terms of characters, they were all very well put together. I had some favorites, likes and dislikes. The story is really interesting but does take time to fully understand. Overall great anime and pretty good sequel to the first season. 8/10
DARLING in the FRANXX (TV) Very good A pretty damn good show. Honesty, I thought this would be an Evangelion rip off, and while it does take some scenes from Evangelion (Hiro in the pilot seat, angel cores, angel wings), it's still a pretty good show. I'll beat it, reading the anime and manga differences, the manga does seem to have the better ending. As far as mecha animes go, obviously there are better ones out there, but FRANXX does do a good job in that aspect. The mecha designs do have a feminine humanoid look, compared to the robotic look of other shows. While this may be an issue for some, it was nice to see some creativity. I personally liked the design. The English was also pretty good too, as I had no complaints watching it. Overall, 7.8/10 Sep-2021
DearS (TV) Good This anime should honestly have been 24 episodes instead of 12 episodes. There is just too many unanswered questions that left me going to the wiki after the last episode. I did somewhat like it however, as it had a somewhat unique story line, characters and cute alien girls. 6.9/10
Death Note (TV) Excellent Fantastic anime! A bit iffy on the ending, but the rest of the show was fire! It's the first anime to make me like both sides, as both the protagonist and antagonist are equally interesting. It's really makes you think what would happen if Light Yagami didn't discover the note book. He could have been just a normal guy, and with his great reasoning and thinking, he could have been a great detective. However, Light's intentions for killing murderers, cereal killers, and other criminals are just, but the way he went about it was wrong. He had just too much power and no checks and balances. A single person ruling over the world, creating no evil and all good, is just pure insanity. Episode wise, a lot of the episodes had myself on the edge of my chair. There was a lot of suspense at times, I had to immediately watch the next episode. The goth girl Misa Amane was a good character and I personally liked her. She might have been a bit of an air head at times, but she was still a good character. The english dubbing was fantastic! Overall, 8.8/10. Oct-2022
Den-noh Coil (TV) Very good A truly underrated show. This anime is perfect for people who like cyber action, with a bit of drama and comedy. The story is well written, as well as the plot line and setting having the perfect tone for the show. The cliff hangers at the end of each episode, when the action kicks up, can be very suspenseful. Overall, anyone should see this gem, especially tech savvy enthusiasts. 8.4/10
Denpa teki na Kanojo (OAV) Very good This anime has potential! A good MC, great atmosphere and characters. This can be a very good mystery show with some great horror elements, but sadly there are only 2 episodes each 45 minutes long. I honesty do not know why the creator only made 2. Overall 8/10
(The) Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (movie) Excellent Absolutely fantastic! Everything in this movie was pure perfection. The story was also extremely entertaining and fun as well. This movie does a fantastic job of neatly wrapping up the entire series, putting a nice bow on it and closing such a magnificent story of the Haruhi Suzumuya anime. 9/10
Domestic Girlfriend (TV) Decent It's probability one of those anime's where the manga is better than the show itself. I read online that so many scenes got chopped out from the anime, due to budget restrictions and time management. Either way, this show was a mess. Guy looses does a one nighter with a girl to loose his v-card, then his father remarries a woman who is the mother of guess what?; the girl his lost his virginity too. The mother also has a daughter who is a teacher, who the MC has had a crush on for a while. Cliche stuff really, and the whole relationships within this anime are just so hit and miss sometimes. One scene they'll have sex, and in another it's back to being step-siblings. This could have been much better. Overall 6.7/10. Apr-2022
Dorohedoro (TV) Very good Great anime with a very interesting story line. Dorohedoro does uses CGI, but honestly it's good. Not as good as Appleseed, but way better than the majority of anime's that do use CGI. I haven't read the manga but it does seem as if the anime skips some scenes. Hoping for a second season! Overall 8.2/10 Sep-2022
Dr. Stone (TV) Very good A really great anime about science and other cool things that make our world enjoyable. The plot is simple yet engaging, as the main character Senku is making scientific components and other blank using nothing but the tools that he currently has. It's a very unique concept as instead of the typical isekai troupe where the main character dies and is reincarnated into another world, this anime takes it to another level as everyone is turned to stone and is broken free after many thousands of years. The dub is surprisingly really good as well. Overall 8.3/10 Aug-2021
Dr. Stone: New World (TV 3) Very good Great continuation of the Dr Stone series! Solid English as always. 8.2/10. Sep-2023
Dr. Stone: Ryusui (special) Very good A solid special hour long episode; linking to the next season. Great English cast and solid performance. Overall, 8.3/10. Sep-2023
Dr. Stone: Stone Wars (TV) Very good Great second season and continuation of the Dr. Stone story line. Dub was great too. Overall 8.4/10 Aug-2021
Dusk maiden of Amnesia (TV) Very good Surprisingly good! It's not as scary as I thought it would be, but it can be spooky at times. I liked how the story was told, how it went and how it ended. As said, it's not "Don't watch this before you sleep!" scary, but it can get a bit spooky most of the time. Which makes it quite enjoyable, for what it is. Overall 8/10 The ova was quite enjoyable too. Oct-2018
Eden of the East (TV) Very good
Eden of the East: Paradise Lost (movie) Very good
Eden of the East: The King of Eden (movie) Very good
ef: a tale of melodies (TV) Very good The story pacing was a little confusing, but overall a great second season. 8.2/10
ef: a tale of memories (TV) Excellent WOW! Fantastic anime and a must watch. Everything was just right including feels, drama, story line and much more. I will say this, this anime does take time to build its emotions and story line during the first couple of episodes, however, episode 4 or 5 is when things start to get interesting. I highly recommend this anime to anyone who enjoys romance, feels and drama. 8.4/10
Elfen Lied (TV) Very good Getting past all the blood, gore and graphic scenes this is a must see for any fans that are interested in the horror and supernatural genres.
Encouragement of Climb (TV) Good A nice and short anime about encouragement and mountain climbing. Each episodes is around 3-5 minutes long so in total, it takes around 37 minutes to finish the entire mini show. There is also an episode 13, which is also around 5 minutes long. This anime is really simple and encourages people to do things that they would normally see as impossible (i.e. mountain climbing). While the main characters don't actually do expert mountain climbing as we all might think of, it still nice to see them take baby steps and go beyond their comfort zone. Overall 7.6/10 Dec-2020
Encouragement of Climb Season 3 (TV) Very good While not as lengthy as the second season or story intense, it was still a joy to watch and quite relaxing at times. I do wish this season had a few more episodes, but their is still hope for another season or even a movie. This third season still had mountain climbing, but it was not as much as the second season. Still, I had fun watching this show. It was motivational and encouraging to watch Aoi go from being an indoorsy high-schooler from the first season, to someone who does mountain climbing for fun. Overall 8.2/10 Jan-2021
Encouragement of Climb Second Season (TV) Very good Much more refined and thought out than the first season. Each episode is 13 minutes with 24 episodes, compared to the first seasons that had 4 minutes each with 12 episodes. The first season was nice and did have some encouraging moments, but barely touched on mountain climbing. This second season does do mountain climbing and shows the overall effort the characters put into it. At first, Aoi is scared of climbing her first mountain but after realizing that it was not as difficult as it seemed, she became more confident. As stated with Aoi, the character development is very well done and shows that not everything in life is easy. The friendship between the characters also shows and reflects on how friends should act to each other in real life. Sometimes you want to give up, but your friends are there to help you. While at other times, you feel down and depressed and your friends are there to comfort you. That is what makes this show special. The character development and friendship are what make this a very enjoyable, but also an encouraging show to watch. Overall 8.4/10 Jan-2021
Encouragement of Climb: Gift of Memories (OAV) Very good Much like the second season, but just 1 extra episode that is 26 minutes long. It really shows how great and wonderful friendship is, and how it can make and impact on someone's life. Again, this show is both encouraging and motivating. Same score as second season. Jan-2021
Engaged to the Unidentified (TV) Very good A pretty good show. Just wish the characters that had the unnatural powers, would show them off more or at least explain how their powers worked. Other than that, I enjoyed it. 7.8/10
ERASED (TV) Excellent A-1 pictures, you've done it again! This was an excellent anime. At first, I thought the time traveling would be very confusing, but as it turns out it is very easy to follow and understand. Some people may not agree with the ending, as I got a bit upset too, but still a great show. Anyone should watch this, including people who enjoyed "Your lie in april". Overall 8.3/10.
Ergo Proxy (TV) Very good Highly enjoyable, yet a bit confusing at the same time. The show is very straight forward during the beginning and middle of the the anime, but starts to get a bit confusing towards the end. All the characters were very well made, and enjoyable. Re-l can be cold at times, but it is because she grew up in a society were you must listen to others, don't think independently, don't question others and obey. I can see why she is rebellious at times towards people. Vincent is a very likable character, but can be bit unaware of situations at times. And finally, Pino has to be hands down the best character on the show. Yes, she may be a child like robot, but her enthusiasm and high spirited attitude throughout the show made her the most likable character. If you wish to watch the show, I highly recommend dub as it sounds really good! Don't understand why some people are bitching that the dub sounds horrible? Also, if you are confused on the plot, just google (ergo proxy explanation). Too bad there might never be a second session or OVA. 8.2/10
Eureka Seven (TV) Very good Very enjoyable anime with a very easy to follow story line, thought the story doesn't really get interesting until the 2/3rd of the anime. Unfortunately that what turns most people off when they watch this, because the first episode is a great intro. Then the anime has a mix of OVA's in the 1/3rd of the show, which gets annoying at times. But after that the show gets more enjoyable. Holland at first is the most hatted anime character in existence, but half way through the show he gets his act together. The Dub is quite solid too, even though Renton at first sounds annoying. Over times he becomes more tolerable. 8.4/10
Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (movie) Very good
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (movie) Excellent
Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (movie) Very good
Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time (movie) Excellent What a great movie to end the Evangelion story! (or at least the rebuilds). There were some parts what were quite out of this world and were hard to understand, much like the original series, but it wrapped everything up quite nicely. I would not mind seeing a few OVA's based on the ending. Overall, 8.8/10. Aug-2021
Expelled from Paradise (movie) Very good It was honestly very entertaining to watch. Granted, the middle part was a lot to take in, especially with all of the talking. The story is a bit loose, however, the action and English voice acting does make up for it. For 2014, the 3D CGI is actually very good, especially when it was a time when it was starting to become a new thing. It even holds up very well today! The music is very catchy and fits into the show so well. It's too bad a sequel of even an anime show continuing the story won't ever happen, as there could be more to this franchise. Overall, 8.1/10. Sep-2023
(The) Familiar of Zero (TV) Good Not too bad of an anime. I was expecting a bit more backbone and interest in the story, which is somewhat disappointing, but still not a bad show at all. 7.4/10
Fate/Zero (TV) Very good
Fate/Zero (TV 2) Excellent
FLCL (OAV) Very good
Flying Witch (TV) Very good I was not expecting this anime to be this relaxing! It's actually really nice to watch a show that is very down to Earth, soothing and enjoyable to watch. Having a slice of life centered around a witch, makes the show even more fun to watch. My only grip about the show are that the characters do not go into full details about the magic they use. However, this show has to be one of my favorite slices of life animes. 7.9/10
Freezing (TV) Good
Freezing Vibration (TV) Good I wanted more from this show. Their was so much potential with the idea of these girls with unique powers and their partners help to fight in battles. The story line was O.K., but nothing spectacular. Fight scenes were good, but could be better. Characters, again, were good but could be better. 7.2/10
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (TV) Excellent One of the best fantasy anime shows out there, period! Not only does this show have an important lesson, enjoying the things you already have and cherishing the moments, but also gives light to side characters. It shows their stories, struggles and ambitions, something so rare and unusual in anime. Frieren is learning that she needs to enjoy the little things in life and moments, as she lives a much longer life than humans. She can wait afford to wait decades, or even centuries if needed. Meanwhile humans can't, so she is also learning to come to terms with them as well. Something she struggles with, but slowly learns as she goes on an adenture with Stark and Fern. The English dub is also phenomenal, especially Frieren's VA Mallorie Rodak. I honesty can't write more than this, as my review would be an entire essay. Even if you aren't into fantasy animes/shows, you need to give this a try! Overall, 9.3/10. Apr-2024
From the New World (TV) Very good Really gives an interesting perspective on what society would look like if people have telekinesis powers. The anime never states who is bad, and who is at fault for making up the rules of this society, as it leaves the viewer to question the morality of the society. Me personally, some people are saying that the humans are at fault here, but those giving this idea are wrong. It's the ethics committee that is at fault, as they allow all of these unethical biological changes to happen. On the outside, it's a peaceful utopia with no flaws, but if you dig deeper, it's a dystopia with flaws. This anime also keeps both arguments in mind, as it teaches the importance of showing both sides of the argument before making a decision. When people make the statement such as "humans are terrible", or "the mole-rats are the oppressed ones", they are missing the point by a mile. Overall, 8.5/10 Jul-2020
Fruits Basket (TV 1/2001) Very good I will be completely honest, I had this anime on hold for at least two years. Why? When I first watched this back in 2014, I was just getting into anime. I saw this as a show intended for the female audience, so I stopped at ep 5 and continued to watch other shows. Two years later, I decided to watch it from my "on hold" list and holy crap, I was quite stupid to put this show on hold. I enjoyed every episode and loved every single character, especially Tohru Honda. Tohru is just too wholesome for myself for my heart to contain. I wish the creators made more than 26 episodes. Maybe a second season because the manga is quite lengthy. Sadly that will probably never happen as the anime was made in 2001 and getting another season is very unlikely. The English Dub however was quite good. In the Japanese dub, Yuki Sohma sounded may too feminine along with some other male characters so I prefer the English dub. Overall 8.4/10
Fruits Basket (TV 2/2019) Very good I remember writing down that I wished for another season of Fruits Basket once I finished the one from 2001, but I had my doubts as the show was old and did not get a lot of attention. Luckily, the show not only got a second season in 2020, but also got an entire remake of the first season to be way more faithful to the manga. The original Fruits basket from 2001 was great, but left a lot out of from the manga. Even the original creator Natsuki TAKAYA ran into many disagreements when the 2001 anime was being produced, as the studio at the time was telling the story in a different style to that of the manga. Luckily, Takaya is the Chief Production Supervisor of the anime now and can tell the story the way it was meant to be! Everything about this show was great, the story, characters, even the music. It shows that not everyone is perfect, and we all have our flaws. It's up to that individual to accept who they really are, or continue to reject the reality. Tohru Honda is one of the main characters that really makes this show worth watching, as she is loving, wholesome, and just down to Earth. She accepts people for what they are, no matter their flaws, and she never complains or talks down to anyone. Truly a well written character! The original dubbing cast from the 2001 anime also voices the main characters, so anyone who watched the original in english can enjoy this! While I did find Momiji's German accent a bit too forced, as in the original he did not have an accent, I did get used to it over time. Overall 8.5/10 Aug-2021
Fruits Basket 2nd Season (TV) Excellent The seconds season has everything great about the first season, but tells the story of many characters in more detail. There is more of an emotional story, as many of the characters have had a troubling past. English dub is also great, much like the first season. Overall, 8.7/10. Oct-2021
Fruits Basket the Final (TV) A beautiful conclusion to a series that deserved a proper anime release! While I do think that the second season was the best out of the series, the final season does a great job wrapping things up. Toru Honda has to be my one of my favorite characters, not just in Fruits Basket, but in anime in general. She is down to Earth, caring, compassionate, never judges people and is always supportive. I think we all need a Toru Honda in our lives. English dub was really good, much like the past seasons. Overall, 8.5/10. Oct-2022.
Full Metal Panic! (TV) Very good
Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory (TV) Very good It's been a long time since I picked up the Full Metal Panic anime series. Invisible Victory picks up where the previous season left off, only this time it's much more serious. In the previous seasons, it was a comedic action packed anime with some slap stick humor. Now it barley has comedy and has a much more serious tone, which signifies that the series is soon coming to a close. I just wish it was 24 episodes instead of 12. The little side arc of Sagara going to a country to fight in mecha competitions was really nice. Overall, good sound track, great cast of characters and story. 7.8/10. Jul-2023
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (TV) Excellent
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (OAV) Very good
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu (TV) Very good
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (TV) Excellent An excellent show that anyone should watch! The Dub is fantastic, the story is deep and interesting, the characters are all well made and thought out. The show does take around 10-15 episodes to fully kick in, but I assure you that its very well worth the wait. 9.1/10
(The) Future Diary (TV) Very good
Ga-Rei-Zero (TV) Very good A pretty good show! The beginning was confusing as all hell but once you get to episode 3, the anime starts to make more sense. I honestly wish there was a second season, as this entire anime felt like a prequel. Overall 7.9/10
(The) Garden of Words (movie) Excellent
GATE (TV) Very good I honestly did not expect this anime to be this good! Some how, the creators managed to combine military and fantasy without a hitch. The characters all also very well done, in terms of development. 7.9/10
GATE (TV 2) Very good
Genshiken (TV) Very good I was expecting this show to be somewhat cliched, but after watching the first episode that was not the case. I usually don't watch "slice of life" animes, as some tend to be boring or unrelated to an actual real life scenario, however this one was an exception. Seeing a show that has characters who enjoy anime, as well as discussing episodes and getting nerdy about anime events, buying new plastic models and anime related items makes this show very enjoyable to watch. Comedy is very funny and goes along with the show very nicely. Characters are all very realistic, in fact maybe too realistic, but still very enjoyable and likable. Saki Kasukabe is probably the funniest character in the show, but sometimes she can be a bit annoying and stubborn at times. I'm just surprised that no one called her an inconsiderate asshole at least once, for not realizing that not all guys like sports and tough stuff, and that liking anime is normal for anyone. Overall, a very likable show that any anime fan should give a try, trust me you will love it. 7.8/10
Genshiken (OAV) Very good A very nicely paced 3 episode (24 min each) OVA introducing a new character to the show. Character development is pacing up, compared to the first season and the comedy is still pretty funny. The art style has changed come what, as well as the character designs. However I won't be too pestered by it, as some OVA's are different from the main story line. Overall, 7.7/10
Genshiken 2 (TV) Very good The second season is quite enjoyable. Basically, the fun is slowly coming to an end for most of the original club members, as they have to find jobs to make money before graduating and going off into the real world. Chika Ogiue can be pretty annoying and hypocritical at times, especially when talking about how she hates otakus, even though she is one. Overall, a great squeal to the first season. 7.75/10
Genshiken Nidaime (OAV) Good
Genshiken: Second Generation (TV) Good Pretty good third season, but not as great as the first and second season. Firstly, as soon as I started watching this season, I was very surprised to hear that the original voice actors were not present from the first two seasons. Why the anime staff members decided not to use the original voice actors is beyond me. It did shook myself off a bit, but after a while I got used the the new voice actors, and surprisingly the new VA's did a pretty good job mimicking the original VA's characters. In terms of story, its good and entertaining, but lacking a bit of content compared to the first two seasons. The newly introduced characters are pretty good, and Chika Ogiue is finally more independent and mature, instead of being a pain and a hypocrite(which is a plus for me). However, some the older characters from the first two seasons barley make an appearance, such as Saki Kasukabe only making it into one eposide! Like really? Whats even more frustratingly annoying is that, some original characters who do appear in every episode are almost not even useful to the plot, or have changed so much they are now somewhat annoying. Manabu Kuchiki is one of those characters that could of left the show, and the plot would not have changed. He was just not that funny, and had no value in this season. Kanako Ōno used to be fun and a very likable character in the first two seasons, but has turned into a bit of an annoying person who is obsessed with cos-playing. TR;DR, the third season is not that greatly astonishing, compared to the the first and second season, but is still not too bad to watch if you like the Genshiken series. 7.3/10
Ghost in the Shell (movie) Very good
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (movie) Very good
Ghost in the Shell: Arise (OAV) Very good A really well made prequel. While it does contradict some past events from the Stand alone season, it still does an amazing job of keeping myself interested. The dub voice actors are really well picked, as I had no problems with the casting. Overall 8/10.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (TV) Very good I found this show to be very interesting. Not only do you have the movie, but you have an alternative version of the original movie. I liked the main story in show, but did not like those "mini episodes". Basically an entire plot is crammed into one single episode, which makes it seemed rushed. Plus, the plot of these mini episodes is not continuing the original story in S.A.C. The mini episodes were entertaining, but I wish they were separate ova's. Oh and the dub was spot on. Overall 8.3/10
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG (TV) Excellent Really well done show. In fact, the "stand alone episodes" were much more interesting and intriguing than the first stand alone complex season. While the anime was released in 2004, the animation is still top notch. The dub was also fantastic. Overall 8.5/10
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society (movie) Very good A pretty good movie sequel to the Solid State Society anime series. While it does not have the same oomph as the 2nd season of Stand Alone Complex, it was still a treat for me as a huge fan of the series. English dubbing much like the main series is spot on, as the exact same English cast is used. If you loved the main series, give this movie a try. Overall 8.3/10 Jan-2021
Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie Very good A pretty good prequel to the well know and loved first movie of the ghost in the shell franchise. While it was entertaining to watch, it does not have the same vibe as the original movie and stand alone complex. The ending does tie in very well to the original movie, but it's highly recommended to watch the 1995 movie first before proceeding into the franchise. The dub was also good as well, no complaints. Overall, 7.8/10 Aug-2021
Ghost Stories (TV) Very good
(The) Girl Who Leapt Through Time (movie) Very good A great movie about the consequences and repercussions of time travel. The time travel aspect is very simple, much like Back to the Future, and is nothing as complex as other shows such as Steins Gate. Although, I do wish they went a little deeper into the time travel aspect, just make the movie a little richer. Plot is fairly simple, yet engaging enough to pull the viewer into the story and movie. As said before, every time Makoto jumps through time something minor happens which causes something major to happen down the line. It's the butterfly effect by definition! The English dub was also very well done. No major complaints there. Overall, 8.3/10. Jan-2021
Girls Bravo (TV) Good Honestly, not too bad. This anime isn't setting off any milestones, but it's still a pretty decent show. The comedy can get repetitive at times, as well as some of the episode's stories. The action scenes are pretty good though. Also the dub cast was good and I have no complainants about it. Overall, you won't miss much if you decide to skip this anime. But it's good to watch if you have nothing else to do. 6.7/10
Girls und Panzer (TV) Very good
Girls und Panzer: This is the Real Anzio Battle! (OAV) Very good
Girls' Last Tour (TV) Very good I really liked this show. This anime can hit certain spots and feelings that can make the user feel happy, then sad, depressed then happy again. In a city once filled with life and a meaning, both characters Chito and Yuuri go through the abandoned ruins of the once prosperous city. Some episodes were about finding food, while others were meeting some surviving people. The episodes when both Chito and Yuuri meet another person were fun, but also quite depressing. When they meet another person, the atmosphere is very uplifting. However when they go their separate ways and say good bye, it's quite sad as both Chito and Yuuri will never meet that person again. The ending to the entirety of this anime was quite sad, but also shows that there can be another season. I do hope there is another season, as there is so much to explore in this post-apocalyptic world. Overall 8.4/10 Jan-20
Golden Boy (OAV) Very good A very funny and enjoyable echi comedy anime. I was actually really surprised that a show with echi was really enjoyable, had great comedy and the MC wasn't some weakling. At first the show may seem a bit weird, but over time it gets very funny. I honestly wanted more than 6 episodes. Maybe 12 or even 15 would be more reasonable. Overall solid 8/10.
Gosick (TV) Excellent An amazing show! At first I though this anime would be a stereotypical detective genre, with the age old "who is behind this mystery" type setting. However it is more than that. The detective part of the show, is certainly way better than the old stereotypical detective setting. Though I do wish the mystery part was more balanced, as the MC can be too overpowered at times. I do wish for another season for this show, as it definitely deserves one! Overall 8.4/10
Grand Blue Dreaming (TV) Very good Down right hilarious and fun to watch! While this show centered around diving, it's not really the main focus here. This show is mainly to make you laugh and have a good time. Don't go into this show thinking that there is a serious plot line or realistic romance setting because it's not! Too many people take shows like this one WAYYY too seriously, and can't even enjoy a joke show every now and then. So ya, great show to lift your spirits up and to get a good laugh. The facial expressions alone sold the comedy really well. Hoping for a second season. Overall 8.3/10 Apr-2020
Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl (TV) Very good
GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka (TV) Excellent Great show! The anime was very enjoyable and funny as well. Not only that, but it can also quite serious at times as well. The MC was also an fantastic character. My only complaint is the filler episodes, as when the show is on its main story line a filler episode would just randomly come into play. I would constantly think the writers would get board of the story line and make up a new one, but 1 to 2 fillers later the regular story line would come back. I wish the fillers were just OVA's, or more constantly placed within the anime. Overall, a must watch for any anime fan! Just mind the filler episodes. 8.3/10
Gunbuster (OAV) Excellent
Gunbuster 2: Diebuster (OAV) Very good
Gungrave (TV) Good Never played the original video game, GunGrave Gore, but reading some reviews online states that the anime tells the story differently compared to the video game. With that being said, many people love this anime for the story telling as it involves trust, friendship, betrayal and revenge. Honestly for me, while it was good, for some reason it just didn't click all too often. I felt the story at times just dragged on, and some episodes could have been combined or somethings cut out. I think 15 episodes would have been better, but that's just me. Black Lagoon, again my opinion, did the whole crime organization/mafia WAY better. It had clever jokes, kick ass fight scenes, great cast of characters and a solid story line. Not saying that Gungrave's story was bad, or its fight scenes were lacking, but Gungrave feels like I could forget most of the characters after a year or so, while an anime like Black Lagoon still hold true and dear to my heart. The English dubbing was quite good though. Overall, 7.3/10. Mar-2022
Gunslinger Girl (TV) Very good Pretty good show. The anime did have a bit of potential, but it was not too bad. The english dub was also not too bad either. 7.5/10
Gunsmith Cats (OAV) Very good Really great show. Too bad it's only 3 episodes, each 25 minutes long. I wish their were more, as the manga does have more material and chapters than the anime. The plot may have been a bit silly/cheesy, but I honestly don't care. Why? Because the anime was fun to watch and I highly enjoyed it. Girls with guns and the classic anime art style make a great formula for this show. The dub was also good too. No complainants. Overall 7.8/10 Mar-2019
Gurren Lagann (TV) Excellent
H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~ (TV) Very good
Haganai (TV) Very good
Haganai NEXT (TV) Very good
Haiyore! Nyaruko-san F (OAV) Good
Hametsu No Mars (OAV) Awful Just........bad in every way. This anime might have been good on paper, but in reality it sucks. There are scenes where I was laughing my ass off because the quality of this show was just that terrible. There are so many questions that will remain unanswered for as long as we live. 2.7/10
Hanasaku Iroha - Blossoms for Tomorrow (TV) Very good A nicely paced anime, about a city girl going to her grandmother's country side inn. Story is well paced and well written. Characters are quite unique and likeable, except for Minko sometimes. She can be a stuck up b*tch at times. Overall 8.2/10
Heaven's Lost Property (TV) Very good
Heaven's Lost Property Forte (TV) Very good
Heavenly Delusion (TV) Very good A damn entertaining and interesting anime! The post apocalyptic setting is really interesting, especially with the man eating monsters and how they might have gotten there. With the added story about the children in the sanctuary, it really adds to the question, how did all of this happen? The English dub was great! Overall, 8.5/10. Jul-2023
Heaven’s Lost Property the Movie: The Angeloid of Clockwork Very good
High School DxD (TV) Very good
High School DxD New (TV) Very good
High School of the Dead (TV) Very good Guns+zombies+action+hot chicks=Epic!
Higurashi no Naku Koroni Gaiden Nekogoroshi-hen (OAV) Very good
Honey and Clover (TV) Very good I enjoyed this anime very much. This shows a college student, who barley has money, going through everyday challenges such as finding a job and earning money. The show starts off slow and gradual and can warn off many people. However, as soon as this anime picks up the pace, its very entertaining to watch. 8/10
How to keep a mummy (TV) Very good Very cute and relaxing anime. I randomly stumbled upon this anime, by watching those "cute moments" anime YouTube videos. Needles to say, I watched episode one right away and got immediately hooked. Even though it does focus on highschoolers, its so refreshing to see the main plot and setting not to be set in the actual highschool. Instead, they focus their attention on the cute little creatures throughout the show. My only complaint is that as of writing this, there is no OVA. Other than that, it's extremely cute and relaxing to watch. Highly recommended if you love cute shows and a relaxing setting. 8.3/10 Aug-2019
HYOUKA (TV) Very good A very nicely paced and laid back anime. Usually a lot of mystery animes have a much darker tone to the show, so it is nice to have something a bit different that is not dark and violent. I was quite disappointed with the romance aspect in the show, as their might be very small glimpses or hints of it every other episode. Wish there was more, such as dating or just going out in general. Since I watched this subbed, you have to pay close attention to the text. Misread or miss a line of text, and you can be quite confused for a good episode. I only got a taste of the dubbed version and it is honestly not half bad. Could be better, but it is completely doable. Overall 8.1/10
I couldn't become a hero, so I reluctantly decided to get a job. (TV) Good It was O.K., nothing special or amazing. Probably the only unique aspect of this show is the fact that magic plays a big role for the plot. Other than that, it was O.K. 6.9/10
ID: INVADED (TV) Good It was hard trying to rate this anime either a good or a very good, as the idea and premises of this show was truly unique. However, there are some flaws with it, mostly being the somewhat confusing plot element of Idwells. The English dub was quite good, but using Rial for Hondomachi did sound out of place, as she almost always uses one voice for all the characters she dubs. Still good dub regardless. Killer sound track though! Overall, a good show with some good sifi elements to it. 7.8/10. Oct-2022
Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san (TV) Good A pretty funny yuri anime. Just don't expect any story line or developing pot. Watch for the lols and humor. 7.5/10
Inuyashiki Last Hero (TV) Very good Really damn good show! Holy crap. I had my doubts at first but after a few episodes and finishing this show, I really enjoyed it. Whats so great about this anime is that almost everything is unpredictable. Which intensifies the story to a whole new level. Overall 8.4/10
Iria - Zeiram the Animation (OAV) Very good Quite a good classic anime. The story could use a little more backbone and some more detail, but it is a good SIFI action anime. The dub was good, but some of the characters could use more emotion. My only major compliant is that the show is only six episodes long. I wish it could be at least ten or more, so more backstory and more details could be in this show. Overall 7.7/10 Aug-2019
(The) Irresponsible Captain Tylor (TV) Very good I was expecting something a bit more serious, but I'm glad the show turned out as great as it did! During the middle of the show, things can get a bit slow, however it's still well worth the watch as the slow parts are still quite funny. The story does gets more serious during the ending. All the characters are great and picking a favorite is quite hard. I do wish the Raalgon Empire, especially as Azalyn and her crew, did get more screen time. The dub as also top notch and highly recommend to watch in English. The ending wrapped everything nicely and has a better conclusion than many anime shows that I have watched. Oh and the soundtrack is a banger! Really great OST! Overall 8.4/10. Nov-2021
Is This a Zombie? (TV) Very good
Is This a Zombie? of the Dead (TV) Very good
Japan Animator Expo (ONA) Very good
Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade (movie) Very good To be honest, I was expecting this movie to be a bit more action packed with faster pacing. However, this is still a pretty good political thriller. Art is very realistic and the English voice acting is good. Overall 7.8/10 Nov-2021
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (TV) Very good Definitely a must watch for anyone a fan of action and thriller. Jojo is a very unique anime as the characters, artwork and story line are all interesting and entertaining to watch. Though at times, because the way the show is set up, some action sequences can be very predictable and have little suspense to them. However, that does not mean the entire show is fun to watch. Overall 8.1/10
Jormungand (TV) Very good A very good action anime with great dialogue and characters. The dub is very well done as well, although Johan's voice is a bit too deep for the character, but I got used to it. Not much to say, other than it's a great action anime. Overall 8/10 July-2019
Jormungand Perfect Order (TV) Very good A great second season to the first one, but the ending of the second season does take an unexpected turn. Instead of Koko funding proxy wars and arming solders in civil wars, now she suddenly want's to bring world peace with her new plan. Kinda strange how the anime did this, but I rolled with it. The dub is quite good, and I really enjoyed it. Jonah's voice is a bit too deep for his age, but I got used to it. Overall 8/10. Aug-2019
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (movie) Very good Pretty good movie to start out the series. Action is great, as well as the animation. English dub was also pretty good. Overall, 8/10. May-2023
K (TV) Very good Pretty good show, but firstly, why is the short name K? Shouldn't the title just be K-Project, as it makes it much easier to search up? Any who, pretty good show revolving around a plot line of several "kings". Not traditional kings, but kings in the sense of controlling/owning a clan. The plot can be a bit tricky to follow, but it's still has an enticing story. The dubbing is great and it's highly recommend to watch in English. Overall, a great watch and will be watching the movie sequel. 7.8/10. Nov-2021
K-ON! (TV) Very good Definitely an anime worth watching. Loved the comedy, very likable characters and a sweet story line. 7.9/10
K-ON! (movie) Very good
K-ON!! (TV 2) Very good Similar to the first season, but instead, the second season offers more comedy, more dialogue and more feels. 8.4/10
K: Missing Kings (movie) Very good A really good and quite fun sequel to the K-project anime. No major complaints. The music was great, English voice acting was very good and the action bits were fun and engaging. The overall production value has also increased so the action scenes are more fluid and engaging, as well as the animation being more smooth and pleasing. Overall 8.1/10 Nov-2021
Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox (TV) Decent Story was O.K., fighting scenes were lacking and character development was hardly there. In some episodes, two characters would talk for 2 seconds then stare at each other for another good 2 minutes. Like, REALLY!? The creators could not come up with some sort of dialogue? In some other instances, the MC would sometimes sound like a girl, then return to his normal voice. Read the manga instead if your interested. Its a lot better than the anime. 6.5/10
Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox (OAV) Decent
Kanon (TV 2/2006) Excellent
(The) Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior (TV) Very good
Kemono Friends (TV) Very good What a fun and relaxing anime. I had my doubts about this show, like many others because of the poor animation quality. However, around episode 4 is when things get very interesting. Yes, the animation isn't that great, BUT the story, characters, music and world building is truly fantastic. In fact, the animation does draw my interest the more I watch Kemono friends. At first I did not like it all that well, but now it's kinda cute and unique. Tatsuki, you did a great job man. I'll be watching more of your work. 8.2/10 June-2019
Kemurikusa (TV) Very good I really like Tatsuki's story telling and world building. He does a fantastic job on creating an atmosphere and building worlds. While the animation isn't as good as a regular anime, the CGI is getting better as Tatsuki is creating more shows. For the anime it self, it does take time to fully understand what is going on, much like Kemono friends. Yet, it still pertains interest as each episode give some information as to what is going on in the post-apocalyptic world. While the main character Wakaba does seem like the generic anime MC, he is quite optimistic and does lift the mood in dark times. Overall 8.2/10 June-2019
Kill la Kill (TV) Excellent
Kill Me Baby (TV) Good Not bad. Comedy is good but dies down a little in the middle of the series. 7/10
Killing Bites (TV) Very good A prime example of don't take certain animes too seriously, you'll enjoy them a whole lot more. Killing Bites is a great example of that, as the entire plot and story is just really silly, but also fun to watch. It's filled with action, violence, blood and of course tons of fan service! Even the writers knew this show was off the hook and just silly, so they just rolled with it. Making it ever so more enjoyable! The way the show ended, a second season can be debated, but would be nice to have a few OVA's. Overall 8.3/10 Aug-2020
Kimagure Orange Road (TV) Very good I thoroughly enjoyed this anime. Watching a classic anime such as Kimagure is really an amazing and astonishing experience. With this show being made in the late 80's, this anime is MUCH different than many animes today. The music is really well made and has an iconic 80's vibe to it. The art style is just magnificent and extremely clean. The anime does do the individual episode plot, with the main story line progressing bit by bit. And because of this their are some episodes that I truly enjoy, and others not so much. The story can be corny at times, while others it can take a very serious route. Some characters I really did truly enjoy such as Madoka Ayukawa, while one I just could not stand such as Yuusaku Hino. Overall, it's a classic anime that you should definitely watch! 8.4/10
Kimagure Orange Road: The Movie Very good I liked it but it was pretty depressing to watch. The movie continues on where the anime left off. Basically Kyosuke tells Hikaru how he really feels, and confesses to Madoka. The anime used the superpowers from the characters as comedy relief, but the movie does not make even the slighted hint of it. Mostly because this movie takes a more serious approach to the story. With the 48 episode anime being somewhat corny and goofy, seeing how realistic the movie is and how it has a serious tone, makes it seem quite strange and sort of out of place in the Orange road franchisee. Also, if you like the conclusion in the anime, you better be emotionally prepared if you plan on watching this. I can't say that I truly enjoyed this movie since it was really depressing, and I may not ever rewatch this. I do recommend you watch something enjoyable if you wish to watch this. Overall 7.8/10
Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic (TV) Good
Kiss×sis (OAV) Good
Kiss×sis (TV) Good
Koe de Oshigoto! (OAV) Good
Konohana Kitan (TV) Very good Quite a good iyashikei anime, as it can be very relaxing at times. The story in each episode is very simple and easy to understand, as each episode does have it's own mini plot. The setting of the show taking place in a traditional Japanese style inn is a very nice change of pace. Makes the story line all the more special and relaxing. There really isn't much to say, it a great show to wind down too. Overall 8/10. May-2020
KONOSUBA - God's blessing on this wonderful world! 2 (TV) Very good
KONOSUBA - God's Blessing on This Wonderful World– Legend of Crimson (movie) Very good An amazing continuation of KonoSuba! The movie retains all of the funny humor, facial expressions and story lines from the first two seasons of the anime. As said, the humor is top notch, providing many funny and enjoyable moments. While wishing the movie were a bit longer, an hour and 30 minutes is a very reasonable length for this film. This movie has a solid beginning, middle, climax and a satisfying ending. With the light novel coming to an end as the 11th volume is the final volume, a third season might not have enough source material for a full season. Making an anime off of the manga spin offs however, would be quite nice. Overall, highly recommend if you've seen the first two seasons and OVA's. 8.5/10 Apr-2020 (300th anime watched)
KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!! (TV) Very good
Laid-Back Camp (TV) Very good So comfy and cozy! I really enjoyed every episode of this anime. This show is not only relaxing, but has a relaxing sound track to go along with it. Plus, it shows the benefits of spending time with friends and enjoying the great outdoors. It's just so relaxing to watch. Honestly, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this anime. Overall 8.4/10 Nov-2019
Land of the Lustrous (TV) Very good Second season please! While the anime was great, there are still many questions left unanswered. The story shows a character, Phos, who like many of the other characters, are all gems and have different abilities and strengths. Phos is trying to figure out who she really is and how she can become more useful, as her gem hardness rating is much lower compared to the other gem girls. The CG is very well done, and shows that if done correctly, CG can be very pleasing to watch. The story is also very well done, though it does take a few episodes to figure out what is going on. When watching the first 3 episodes, I had no clue as to what the plot was all about, yet I was still drawn into the anime by the dialog and presentation of the characters. Overall, it takes time to figure out what the show is about, but it's well worth it. 8.1/10. Oct-2021
Last Exile (TV) Very good Last Exile is one of those shows were it takes a few episodes to fully get into. However despite this, it's an enthralling and inspiring show. Many characters in the show are very inspirational, teaching many people to follow your dreams and to never give up a fight. Everyone character has an important role. The English dub is very well done and even recommended. Overall 8.4/10 Apr-2020.
(The) Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These (TV) Very good A pretty good space sifi anime about two nations with different political views, an empire and a democratic nation. Combat was good, and certainly engaging. The English dub was also good too. Loved the stills of space with planets in the background. Overall, 8/10. Apr-2023
Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Second (movie series) Very good A great continuation of the series. It's not really a movie series, as each episode is 25 minutes log, but more like a mini season. Much like the first season, it can get political at times and while it does have a space battle, this season focuses on the political aspects of the Empire and Alliance. The English was also good and enjoyable. Overall, 8/10. Dec-2023
Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! (TV) Very good
Little Busters! (TV) Very good
Little Busters! EX (OAV) Very good
Little Busters! Refrain (TV) Very good
Little Witch Academia (movie) Very good
Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade (OAV) Very good An amazing and very well put together anime. Very like-able characters and a plot/setting that has a lot of similarities to the very nostalgic Harry Potter series, but instead of wizards we get cute yet badass witches. This anime is great for all ages and can be watched with anyone. Both this and first movie, in my opinion, get an 8./10.
Liz and the Blue Bird (movie) Very good Quite a beautiful movie that is somewhat of a spinoff of Sound! Euphonium 2. I say somewhat of a spinoff as it does tie into the Sound! Euphonium Movie 3 as in the third movie, the band members play Liz and the Blue Bird in the concert. This movie should have been a side story to the third movie and not a spin off, but it still works nevertheless. While it's not an necessity to watch, it does give more of a story line for the two characters Nozomi and Mizore. The art style is very colorful and beautiful, much like the main series, and while the change of the art style is still very pleasing to look at, it took awhile for myself to get used to all of the characters in this new art style. The story, while simple, does teach an important life lesson. Mizore, while thoughtful and friendly, needs to show her true talent and should not be purposely stringing herself down to follow other people. Overall very beautiful and while it would make the third movie of Sound! Euphonium a bit more emotional, it's not necessary to watch Liz and the Blue Bird as it's treated as somewhat of a spin off. Oh and don't watch this as a stand alone movie. You could, but just watch the main series first. 8.3/10 Jan-2021
Log Horizon (TV) Very good
Log Horizon (TV 2) Very good A really great MMORPG based anime! While I think the first season was a tad bit better, I still enjoyed the second season. The sound track, much like in season one, is very good and fit the theme perfectly. The only complaint I have for the second season, is there can be way too much dialog in a given time. I believe it was episode 11, when Shino and his guild failed a big quest and gave up. However, one guild member ranted for the entire episode about how far they came, and that they should try this quest again. I mean really an entire episode for a rant? Maybe 10 minutes but damn, I get the point. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the anime very much! 8.4/10 Mar-2020
Love Live! School idol project (TV) Very good A very good anime to watch. All the characters were amazing (kotori is best girl) and I was quite impressed that the show could pull off it's plot in 13 episodes. I also had some small vibes of K-ON! as I was watching this, which is a good thing! I guess the two show do have some similarities. All in all, if you like music, idol and signing type animes than you should definitely watch this. 7.9/10
Love Live! School idol project (TV 2/2014) Very good Second season of the Love Live! series and I have to say, it was pretty good. The only downside I have to say is the 3d animation, while they are preforming songs, is a bit awkward. Its not bad nor note worthy, but they could of stuck to 2d while doing songs. Other than that, I really enjoyed the whole series. 7.9/10
Love Stage!! (TV) Very good Honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy the anime as much before watching it, given the yaoi theme of the show. However despite the show having the yaoi theme, it had some very nice comedic moments and was fun to watch. The sexual moments in the show are very brief and don't get too detailed, which fits the show well as it is just mostly a romantic and comedic anime. The story itself isn't complicated at all and is quite simple, yet it keeps the viewer engaged and wanting more. I personally would not mind another season, given the fact that this anime is only 10 episodes. All in all, it was funny and enjoyable to watch. Will this get me into the yaoi sub-genre? No, not in the slightest, but it was enjoyable to watch and to have a good laugh. Probably because Izumi is somewhat feminine, and that is what made the story itself enjoyable. Just remember that it does have it's yaoi moments, since that is what is show is mostly about. Overall 8/10 Sep-2020
Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! (TV) Very good A pretty good show I must say. This anime teaches us that we have to grow up, in terms of maturity, some day. However, at the say time, not loosing the ability to have fun once in awhile. You could say that the story has a generic high school setting, but the so called "8th grade syndrome" basically makes up for it by adding funny commentary and cool imaginary battles. Overall, 7.8/10
Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! -Heart Throb- (TV) Very good
Love, Chunibyo, & Other Delusions: Rikka Takanashi Version (movie) Very good I have not seen this series in a while, so having a movie like this is a nice refresher. This movies takes the perspective of Rikka and adds more elements to the story. It is a compilation of the first season, but you should watch the first season if you haven't yet before watching this. It's a nice relaxing movie to watch, but because it's 90 minutes it wont have everything from the first season. Which is fine because it's meant to be a summary. It's also nice to watch, if you have not kept in touch with this anime in awhile too. Overall 7.9/10 Feb-2019
Lovely Complex (TV) Very good It was actually pretty good show. I liked to idea of a tall girl & short boy relationship, as 95% of the anime's out there usually have the very common short girl & tall boy relationship. The comedy is very funny, with the two main characters constantly having a comedy argument with each other. The show can get a bit repetitive at times, especially during the middle of the anime. I swear, I think the creators were getting board during the middle of the show, and showed no interest to the audience what so ever. As for art style/animation, I enjoyed the character's animation very much. Overall, if you like romance comedy, but won't mind the repetitive shows in the middle of the anime, you show give a show a shot. 7.7/10.
Lucky Star (TV) Very good
Lucky Star OVA Very good
Lycoris Recoil (TV) Very good A pretty good show about an underground organization keeping peace in Japan, that trains school girls to fight terrors. The plot could've used some work but then again, this show has it's goofy moments here and there, as well as some slap stick humor. The plot armor for the main villain is very thick, which is annoying at times. The dub was good, but I switched to sub to see how it was and stuck with it half way. Overall, 7.8/10. Nov-2022
Made in Abyss (TV) Excellent Hands down, one of the best shows of 2017. While I have not watched it in 2017, I can still say for a fact that its one of my favorites. The show can get very gruesome at times, but can also be very lighthearted. I honestly thought the entire show would just be cave raiders exploring abandoned ruins, but it's way more than that. I found the idea of a giant abyss with different layers to be an excellent setting, as the world building is outstanding. I honestly hope the movies and the squeal become available in America soon. 8.8/10 Sep-2019
Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul (movie) Very good It's cute, yet disgusting. Funny yet fills you with anger. Calm yet filled with adrenaline. Made in Abyss is one of those shows that fools you into thinking "Hey this looks like a really cute show!", then slaps you out of nowhere with themes like gore, depression, hard hitting dialog and a great story. It's hard to describe the series as a whole, since so much goes on. The movie continues where the anime left off, and still carries on great dialog, a story and the characters. The themes in this movie, compared the the anime are much more disturbing. Watching some of them made my stomach turn, feeling a sense of dread and horror. It was kinda hard to watch those scenes honestly. Also, the pacing from the middle towards the end did seem a bit out of paced. If the movie was just 20 or so minutes longer, I feel that this pacing would have been much better. Overall 8.3/10. Jun-2023
Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun (TV 2) Excellent Fantastic squeal to the movie; continuing the story of this great show! Much like the 3rd movie, this season can get dark, except it's much more gruesome and unforgiving. If you thought the movie played with your emotions and feeling, boy you're in for a treat with this one! One moment it's a light hearted, warm and fuzzy, then it gets dark, slowly turning against you and making a fool out of yourself thinking this anime was anything but peaceful. It's definitely not afraid to make you uncomfortable in any fashion. Episode 7 was a tough one for me to process, as I genuinely had to take a day's break from watching the rest of the show. It really makes you question if you are human, if you truly have feelings and emotions. Yet, that what makes this show so unique and special to me. It tells the story in the most raw way possible, letting you know that there are consequences for the character's actions. Along with everything else, the music really sets the tone for each score. Sometimes it's catchy, others it's action packed, and on some moments, it's truly disturbing. Overall 8.8/10. Jun-2023
Mahoromatic - Automatic Maiden (TV) Very good
Mahoromatic: Something More Beautiful (TV) Very good
Mahoromatic: Summer Special Good A nice little special. I have not seen the series in quite a while, but it's still nice overall. 7.2/10 Apr-2019
Maid Sama! (TV) Very good
MAOYU (TV) Very good
Maquia - When the Promised Flower Blooms (movie) Excellent It's heartwarming, heartbreaking, sad, beautiful, happy and even suspenseful. This anime movie shows the struggles of a mother, who adopted a boy who lost his parents. While the boy is a normal human, Maquia the mother is an Iorphian, who can live a much longer life than humans. The movie looks at the hardships and struggles of such a fictional reality, as while the young boy slowly becomes a man, the mother still looks young and youthful. While the movies goes throughout the years showing how life is changing for both of them, it does not go through each year in exact order, but rather by importance. The English dubbing was great and even fantastic in many areas. Many of the VA's really put their heart and soul into there perspective character's role. The art style is very clean, and while the background is realistic, the characters retain the fantasy look without being too realistic. Overall, a great movie to watch with loved ones especially with the family. 8.9/10 Oct-2021
Maria Holic (TV) Good
Maria Watches Over Us (TV) Very good Somewhat difficult to understand at times, as the dialog can be sometimes geared towards the female gender, making the male audience hard to comprehend some of the conversations between people. But, the story is pretty good and very well written. And yes, this show does have yuri, but not the hardcore kissing and making out yuri. The romance is more or less, geared towards the emotional and physiological side of the yuri romance genre. Overall, hard for some to understand the show, but for those who will, it is a must watch. 8/10
Maria Watches Over Us 3rd Season (OAV) Very good Shows such as this are coming increasing hard to watch, as this shows DVD/blu-ray is really hard to find. They did make it a blu-ray, but why was it limited production? Then proceed copyright strike those that uploaded to websites? What did you expect of a limited physical production anime? Anyway, the show itself is very good if not superb. Instead of 12, 30 minute episodes, these OVA's are 5 episodes each 50 minutes long. The show has some really well thought out dialog and very good animations. Overall 8.2/10
Maria Watches Over Us Season 2: Printemps (TV) Very good Similar to the first season, but involving more emotion between characters. The dialogue, again, can be a bit hard to follow sometimes, but is very engaging if understood. 8/10
(The) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (TV) Excellent
(The) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (TV 2009 renewal) Very good Putting aside the Endless Eight episodes, I enjoyed this anime! Wish there was more though.
Memories (movie) Very good Since ANN has separate entries for these movies, I'll comment on this one for simplicity. Magnetic Rose: My favorite out of the three. Great atmosphere, sound design, music and a quite a good story to go along with it. The space scenes are very well made. I really wanted more out of this movie, as it had potential. Animation is top notch and still hold up extremely well to this day! 8.3/10. Stink Bomb: A very comedic take on a serious situation that exists in the movie. Pharmaceutical worker takes an unknown pill to hopefully cure his fever, but little known to him, it turns him into a giant stink bomb without him knowing. Great animation and has some funny dialog as well. Overall, 8/10. Cannon Fodder: This one has the most unique animation out of the three. It's very gritty, crude, unrefined, yet it fits the style of this movie. This mini movie shows how hard, tough and overall how little freedom a citizen would have in a total militaristic society. There is no real plot or story, but just scenes of an everyday life on an ordinary citizen. Overall, 7.9/10. All three movies were watched in English and everyone had great voice actors!! May-2022.
Michiko & Hatchin (TV) Very good Loved this anime. It was very nice to see a change of setting and atmosphere, as this takes place in South America / Latin America (the location is unknown and the anime uses fictional country's). I also loved the realism in the story and mood, as not everything is happy and joyful in this world. Many times, the two main characters are getting themselves out of harms way. But basically, the story is very simple, as Michiko and Hatchin are both looking for their husband/dad. Everyone says he is dead from a terrible terrorist attack, but in reality he used that plot to run away as he is a player going from woman to woman. From the time of searching to finding Hiroshi (the husband/dad), both Michiko and Hatchin go on small adventures looking for clues as to where he could be. These small stories and advantures were really amazing and quite realistic, and not all of them end in a happy ending. Oh, and the dub was great too. No complaints at all. Overall, 8.4/10 Nov-2019
Mirai Nikki (OAV) Good
Mirai Nikki Redial (OAV) Very good
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid (TV) Very good Wow. I was honestly not expecting this show to be this good. I liked all of the characters, the story line was comedic but can get serious at times. The show's fanservice was also very nice, but at the same time not too overboard. My only complaint is the the anime is 12 episodes long. Having 15 or 20 episodes with an OVA or two would be a bit better. Over all solid 8/10. Edit: I've seen the OVA, but since ann did no make a page for it, I am giving it an 8/10.
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S (TV) Excellent Kyoto animation's out did themselves in every way! The first season was great, but the second season was even better! We finally get back stories to many of the characters, improving the characters themselves, as well as many other impressive improvements. Seeing all of the dragon's from season one finally get some back story is great! The animation is quite honestly just eye candy. It's fluid, vivid and just down right beautiful. The first season had some quite good animation, but the second season just goes above and beyond that! Compared to other big budget studios, where animators are almost being treated like slaves, Kyoto Animation not only treat's its employees with respect, but also shows results. That is why Kyoto Animation is one of my favorite studios. The anime, mush like the first season, is a slice of life. So while it's not everyone's cup of tea, it sure as hell is mine! It's funny, has it's sad moments, serious moments, but overall is very enjoyable to watch. I would love to see a proper prequel to this anime. It honestly deserves it! Overall, 8.7/10. May-2022 (400th anime watched)
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S (OAV) Very good A very nice OVA about Kanna's new friend, Chloe. Very nice, down to earth and quite relaxing to watch. Overall, 8.0/10. Jun-2022
Mitsudomoe (TV) Very good A very funny and entertaining anime that anyone can sit back, relax and have a good laugh.
Mitsudomoe Zōryōchū! (TV) Very good Similar to the first season, but only 8 episodes. Wish there was more, because this series was very hysterical. Both 1st and 2nd get 7.7/10.
MM! (TV) Good
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (TV) Very good
Monogatari Series Second Season (TV) Very good A great continuation of the monogatari series. This continuation is a combination of 5 story arcs; all of which play a part of the main story. The art much like the rest of the series is top notch. Overall 8.4/10 Nov-2020
Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls (TV) Very good
Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun (TV) Very good A hilarious anime that anyone should watch. Loved the amount of comedy and funny dialog between characters. Hopefully there will be another season. 8/10
Moonlight Mile (TV) Very good Quite the space themed anime. Not only is it realistic, but the voice acting in the English dub makes the show ever more enjoyable. The English dub has many variations of accents, which makes the show more enjoyable to watch and adds to the realism. The art style also has a very realistic look to it as well. Overall a pretty good space anime to watch. 8.2/10 Jun-2021
MoonPhase (TV) Good The anime was not too bad. The first couple of episodes got mine interest, but then dulled down over time. It seems that almost everything in this show was cliche. The fighting was O.K., nothing too special. The dialog was not too bad ether. The Dub, I have mixed feelings for. The voice acting for some characters were fantastic while others seemed out of place and annoying. Sub is recommended if you find interest in this show. Overall 7.1/10.
Motto To Love Ru (TV) Good
Mushi-Shi (TV) Excellent Pure excellence! I love how the story is told, as each individual episode has its own story line, instead of one whole story throughout the entire season. Its almost as if the main character was telling us what he experienced, or we were reading his journal. The dub was also absolutely fantastic! Ginko's VA is a phenomenal job! 8.6/10
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation (TV 1) Very good It's a pretty damn good isekai anime. What's really sad is most people give this show bad reviews, just on the MC alone. He is a creep at times, still has his old mind set from his old life, and really don't learn from his mistakes too often. The thing is, you're not suppose to like him, that is how the show is set up. The anime itself doesn't really pickup speed until episode 8, but even then, it's still great to watch. Overall, 7.9/10. Mar-2023
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation (TV 2) Very good Much like the first season, the second season is quite good! It immediately picks up where the first season dropped off. Rudeus is much less creeper with others, being insufferably weird at times in the first season, as now he is finally coming to terms with himself and trying to figure out what happened to everyone. Eris is also a much better person now, maturing a lot and becoming a sharper swords-woman. Before, she was unpredictable with her anger, lasing out towards others and being a snotty stuck up brat. Now, she is more calm headed and thinks before acting. A great continuation for this anime! Overall, 8.1/10. Jun-2023
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation (OAV) Very good Good OVA for the first season! Since I watched this on Crunchyroll, I though this was the very last episode for season 2, but it's actually a mini side story for season 1. Dumb that Crunchyroll can't but this in order, but nevertheless, good OVA. Overall, 7.9/10. Jun-2023
My Dress-Up Darling (TV) Very good Great anime about not only cosplaying, but also meeting new friends and getting out of your comfort zone. The episode layout, plot structure and characters are all very well made. Having Amanda Lee voicing Marin in the English dub was an absolutely fantastic choice. Amanda is not only a great singer/ voice actor, but she genuinely loves anime and the community. Paul Dateh did a great job voicing Wakana, even though he is a new comer. He gives his character a very realistic skittish tone when upset, yet wholesome warm tone when happy and cheerful. Love the english dub! Overall 8.3/10 Aug-2022.
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (TV) Very good A show with a much different MC than I had anticipated. Instead of being the generic MC we usually see in high school anime, this MC is more socially distant towards others and usually beats himself up. It did have the old generic high school plot, but the MC was the star or the show and was very interesting. He tells the harsh truth about others and says it with confidence, as he does not care about being friends with everyone. Honestly with out this MC, this show would be just another ordinary high school anime. 8/10 Mar-2019
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO! (TV) Very good While the second season had less character interaction compared to season one, I still enjoyed it. The first season was easy to follow, because the characters always spoke their mind. The second season was more of a guessing game, and it was sometimes hard to follow. Hachiman in the first season always told people the harsh truth and cold bitter reality of themselves. However in the second season, he is a bit more nonchalant and casual. In fact, that's what I miss about the first season is the drama Hachiman goes through. Back to the second season, it was still easy to follow along and get the idea of the story, or situation that was taking place. The art style is also drastically more vivid, as the second season has a much bigger budget. Overall a pretty good and well made second season. 7.8/10 Apr 2019
Nanana's Buried Treasure (TV) Good
Nekomonogatari (Black) (TV) Very good
Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV) Very good I have to say, a very well written mecha anime. This is more than just robots fighting, as the show focuses on human emotions, thoughts, and lengthy dialog between characters. The writing and characters are all very well put together. If you enjoy endless mind numbing action between two robots, this show is not for you. There is action, but the show focuses more on psychology rather than head to head combat. 8.4/10
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion (movie) Very good What the f**k did I just watch. The first half was amazing, but the second half was... I guess confusing and messing with my mind? Does not mean it was bad, just pretty confusing. For this one, I will leave it unrated.
New Kimagure Orange Road: Summer's Beginning (movie) Very good This much is much more enjoyable than the first movie from Kimagure Orange Road. The first one was pretty depressing, while this one has a much more enjoyable feel to it. Basically, the story gets wrapped up and is set in 1991. The art style is much different than the first movie and the anime series, but I think it does it justice. Everyone looks more mature and had a more realistic style to it, since this movie does take the more serious story route. It has it's depressing moments from time to time, but no where near as bad as the first movie. While the dub was not bad, I had to watch the sub since I watched the entire anime and first movie subtitled with the Japanese voice actors. I'm actually glad this movie is much more enjoyable than the first one, but also sad that the series has came to an end. Overall 8.3/10
Nichijou - My Ordinary Life (TV) Very good I have to say, this was stupidly hilarious in a very good way. So much comedy to cheer up a person on a gloomy day. The characters were all very likable and the plot is composed into 4 or more small stories in a single episode, which goes well with this anime. I'm also glad that it is 26 episodes and not 12. But sadly, this show will not get another season due to poor sales in Japan. All in all this show is a must watch if you love comedy. 8.1/10
Nisemonogatari (TV) Very good
No Game, No Life (TV) Very good
No Game, No Life Zero (movie) Excellent A great prequel to the No Game No Life anime! Superb music, a great story line and amazing visuals and characters. Some might think that because this is a prequel, they can watch this first. However it's best to watch the anime series first, as watching the movie first would spoil the flow of the story and some dialog might not make sense, even though the movie is a prequel. It can get quite sad but it's well worth the watch if you enjoyed the anime series. The visuals are very colorful and vibrant in some scenes, but because this involves war and death, many of the visuals are dark and gloomy. I'm really hoping for another season, as watching No Game No Life some years ago gave me great joy. Overall 8.6/10 Jan-2021
Nyaruko: Crawling with Love! (TV) Good
Nyaruko: Crawling with Love! (TV 2) Good It was honestly not all that bad. The comedy could have been a bit better. Same goes for the action scenes. The animation, however, was really good. Characters weren't all too generic, but Mahiro (main character) can be stubbornly annoying at times, and can be too serous as well. Overall not bad, but I just wish the story was a little bit better. 7.3/10
ODDTAXI (TV) Very good An underrated show! I was expecting a show with small plots, showing the life of a taxi driver. However, the crime and mystery aspect proved to be much more suiting. The English dub was great, and the story structure was very solid! I love the ending of the show and it's worth watching just to see a satisfying conclusion. Overall, 8.3/10 Apr-2023
Oh My Goddess! (OAV) Very good Short but a very well made romance anime. Great characters and a very well chosen English cast. It's refreshing to see a semi serious romance show, where the main character actually shows his love to a female. Music is well done too. Overall 8.3/10 Nov-2021
Omamori Himari (TV) Good
One Punch Man (TV) Excellent Holy sh*t, defiantly an anime worth watching. Everything about this was epic. Story was awesome, action was top notch and the characters were all very unique. A nice mix of action and comedy too. My only complaint is that it is 12 episodes when it could have easily been 24 or 26. 8.5/10
One Punch Man: Road to Hero (OAV) Very good
Otaku no Video (OAV) Very good A presently interesting anime to watch about otaku in the late 80's early 90's. Back then, those who were a fan of anime and manga were not so open about it, where as now days it's much different. This show also had real life interviews with those who were or still consider themselves an otaku. Some were interesting while others were quite sad. Still, moral of the story is as long as you can make a decent living on what you love, then whats the harm? If you can make money off of selling doujin, figurines or even your own anime, then why not? Overall, 7.8/10 Jan-2021
Otoboku - Maidens Are Falling for Me! (TV) Good Pretty good. Simple plot line, likable characters and overall a good likable story. 7.5/10
Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru: Futari no Elder (OAV) Very good The OVA was very good. The OVA and the original anime were both very unique in there own way. This is not a continuation of the first season as the OVA gets a similar setting set in the same school but has a different story line. My only complaint is, why is it only 3 episodes? Why not 12 or 13? Other than that, I really enjoyed it. 7.9/10
Outlaw Star (TV) Excellent Such a great and fun anime to watch. I absolutely loved the pacing of this SiFi space adventure anime, as it's easy to follow and has multiple small story arcs. Some of the arcs were action packed, while one in particular was quite saddening. The dub was also superb and sounded great. All of the voice actors did a fantastic job for the English version. Not to mention the animation was top notch, and very fluid during the action packed sequences. The anime also ended quite nicely, but I do wish there was a few OVA's to watch after the ending. Overall 8.7/10 Feb-2020
Overlord (TV) Very good A pretty good and entertaining anime about a once popular online game called Yggdrasil, that soon shuts down. But a player named Momonga stays to the very end, but when the servers shutdown he is transformed and transferred to another world similar to Yggdrasil. I have to stay, I quite enjoyed the show. Oh, and the Dub is pretty damn good too. 7.9/10
Paprika (movie) Very good Wow what an acid trip, in a good way! The visuals were outstanding and the story was very interesting as well. I really can't explain this movie that well in words, so you're going to have to watch it your self. If you like movies that give you an acid trip and love to screw with your mind, give this a shot. 8.4/10 Mar-2019
Parasite Dolls (OAV) Good It was good. Wish the third part had a bit more depth to it in terms of story, but overall not bad. I like how the BubbleGum Crisis franchise has many other shows sprouting off from the main anime. This show, Parasite Dolls, is a shared universe within the BubbleGum Crisis universe. Parasite Dolls is not a requirement to watch, if you want to get into BubbleGum Crisis. In fact, the only things it shares with the main show are the boomers, Genom and the A.D. Police. The action scenes are the shining point in this show, as everything else is just alright. The story is simple to follow and not very complex, but could also use some more thought into it. Basically it's a detective show, but with blood, violence and some nudity set in the future. The English cast was also pretty good and did a good job in this anime. Overall if you enjoyed sifi shows such as Ghost in the Shell and Psycho-Pass, you'll find this anime to be entertaining. 7.0/10 Jun-2021
Patlabor The Mobile Police (OAV 1/1988) Good Quite good for what it is. The first few episodes were good, but I've noticed that the last three had a much higher production quality than the beginning episodes. The scenes them selves felt different and the animation was a bit more refined. Story was basic, but still enjoyable. Overall, 7.6/10.
Penguin Highway (movie) Very good What a fun and exhilarating movie! Firstly, this isn't exactly a kids movie but does have kids as the main cast, so one might think it is. Plenty of movies and other media have kid(s) as the main cast, but are not classified as a kids movie. This is because, much like this movie, they compose a message to the older audience that is too complex for younger viewers to understand. It does shows the life of a very smart elementary school kid doing experiments and putting together hypothesis, but the message round the movie would be too complex for any actual kid to understand. The film is down to Earth, as well as vibrant and personal. There are many sifi filled aspects of this movie and even if it is not fully explaned, it does make it very interesting nevertheless. This is the type of movie that does not need to explain why the SIFI events happens, as it leaves that questioning up to the viewer, rather than the director doing the explanation. The main message of the movie though? Well much like the SIFI aspect, that is also left for the viewer to examine and hypothesis. The dubbing was quite good and while the main character did sound a bit monotone, I do personally think it did suit his personality. Overall, a great movie to examine and discuss once you are finished watching it. 8.5/10 Oct-2021
(The) Pet Girl of Sakurasou (TV) Very good
Pet Shop of Horrors (TV) Good Another pretty good anime that had potential for more episodes, but ended up not getting enough of funding. The manga does have much more to offer in terms of content and story, however the anime did show that this manga needs a proper anime adaptation. While four episodes are quite short, it did show some really interesting stories and important life lessons. The show itself is a great watch for Halloween, as it does involve some monstrous creatures and some blood. The English dubbing is quite alright, but you can tell in some instances when the main VA did over act in some scenes. Overall, a good underrated show that had potential, but lacked the proper funding. 7.8/10 Aug-2021
A Place Further Than the Universe (TV) Excellent People who see this as a typical slice of life show just do not get it, and are very ignorant. Sure this show does have cute anime girls doing cute things, much there are many messages in this anime that portray real life situations. For one, it's about friendship and trusting each other, as well as pushing yourself to go places that you wish to see, as your self doubt is holding you back. The main characters in this anime all show us that while it may be uncomfortable or challenging to get to your life goals, it's definitely worth it in the end. In this anime, the four girls want to go to Antarctica all for different reasons, but are not sure if they can pull it off. Time and time again, some of the girls wonder if they can actually go to Antarctica, since it is only reserved for researchers and scientists. Some of their classmates even make fun of them for even thinking of going to such a barren and bizarre place. Finally after pulling some strings and meeting some people, they finally made it happen, although it was not easy. Anyone could have given up, but this anime shows up that anyone can achieve their dream if they push hard enough. They all pulled through, ignored the ones who made fun of them and stuck together to achieve their goal. Anyone having doubts of achieving their goals in life or wondering if there are people out there to become friends with needs to watch this show. It will up life your spirit and get you motivated. Overall 8.7/10 Dec-2020
Planetes (TV) Excellent
Please Teacher! (TV) Very good A very unique anime about a student and teacher relationship but this isn't your ordinary high school teacher, she is an alien. Very unique and interesting story/plot, likable characters and a very good amount of romance. 7.8/10
Please Teacher! (OAV) Very good I quite enjoyed the ova. Adds more between the two main characters. 7.8/10
Please tell me! Galko-chan (TV) Very good I'm surprised on how great this anime is. This anime has a huge underlining message to teach everyone, don't judge a book buy it's cover. Every character in this anime is named by a sub-cultural name and takes on the stereotypical appearance of that name. For example, Galko-chan is short for Gyaru, and she takes on the typical fashion sense of a Gyaru. You might think she is extremely selfish and engages in sexual activity everyday, but in reality she is very kind, considerate and even very innocent when it comes to sexual topics. The same goes with the rest of the class mates. Nikuko is very plump, but is a very fast runner. Otako likes to watch anime, but not as much as people would think, as she is more into book reading. So on and so on. This show teaches people not to label those who appear to take on as an Otako or a Gyaru, but instead look at their character. My only complaint is this anime is too short. 7 minutes per episode is fine, but I want more! I hope a second season brings in 23 min 12 episodes. Overall 8.5/10 Dec-2019
Princess Jellyfish (TV) Very good A very nicely toned anime. The comedy was good, story line was nicely paced and all the characters were unique and funny in there own special way. The only downside I can really think of is that this show could have easily been 15-24 episodes. Sadly, a second season might not come for unknown reasons. All in all, 7.9/10
Princess Principal (TV) Very good What a great show, set in the industrial era of an English like town in a steam punk like world. First off, the use of English accents is so refreshing. Even though the voice actors are American doing an emulation of it, it still sounds very appropriate for a show like this. The VA's did an outstanding job of doing the English accents for the characters, so well done Sentai!! The show's episode order is a bit like the anime The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, where the structure of the anime is done to where the viewer can brain storm on how the plot is advancing. The important episodes where all the characters are introduced are shown first, while side missions are in the middle of the show. Watching it in broadcast order is HIGHLY recommended, as the show was intended to be watched like it. If you intend to rewatch it, then chronological order would be fine. Looking forward to watching the movie. Overall 8.2/10 Dec-2021
Princess Principal: Crown Handler (movies) Movie 1: Quite good, although I was expecting a bit more story wise. English dubbing was great as always. Apr-2022
Prison School (TV) Very good
Prison School (OAV) Good It's been awhile since I've seen the main show, but it's still just as funny and ridiculous as before. I wish there were more OVA's or at least another season. There is plenty of material in the manga, so I don't see why they can't make another season. 7.6/10 Feb-2020
Problem children are coming from another world, aren't they? (TV) Very good Not bad. Defiantly an interesting concept about gift games and communities. I wish there another season to complete this show. 7.8/10 Seen the OVA, don't know why ANN did not make a separate page for it. Overall same overall thoughts as with the main series. 7.8/10
Psycho-Pass (TV) Very good 8.3/10
Psycho-Pass (movie) Very good A very well made continuation of the Psycho-Pass series. It should be noted that watching both season one and two are needed, in order to watch the movie. Or you will not know what is going on. The art/animation is the same as in the first and second session, but spruced up a bit because movies do have a higher production value. The dub by Fundimation is really well made, and quite enjoyable. Overall 8/10.
Psycho-Pass 2 (TV) Very good 8/10
Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System (movies) Very good A great movie sequel to the Psycho-pass movie. To be clear, these are 3 movies each with a separate plot. Each movie is an hour long, so you can finish all three in one sitting. The first two movies were good, but in all honesty the third was the best as the main character was Shinya Kōgami, since we hardly saw him after his departure. The first two movies felt like some what of a side story, while the third felt more of a sequel to the Psycho-Pass movie from 2014. It's hard to say if it's necessary to watch the first two, but they are still good nevertheless if you are a fan of Psycho-Pass. All in all, grab some popcorn and enjoy these three short one hour films. 8.4/10 Dec-2020
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (TV) Excellent
Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings Excellent
Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 2: Eternal Excellent
Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion Excellent
(The) Quintessential Quintuplets (TV) Good Honestly, this is the first anime that I watched where I was torn between giving the show a GOOD rating or a VERY GOOD rating. Some parts were well executed, while others were very cliched (often using jokes and situations found in many animes). The first few episodes didn't sell me at all, and it felt really out of place for me to be watching something like this. Around episode 5 or 6, things got much more grounded. Music is quite generic too, but overall good show, will be watching the second season. 7.5/10 Jan-2022
(The) Quintessential Quintuplets ∬ (TV 2) Very good Much better than the first season! Right from the first episode, I could tell that the second season was given a better budget and way more thought put into it. The music is way more natural and orchestrated compared to the first season, which was very generic and forgettable. The use of a piano really sells some scenes and makes the story a bit more emotional. The story also has much more backbone too it and has better dialog between characters, as well as a more grounded story line in general. Not to mention the much more cleaner and better drawn art and animation. Overall, MUCH better than the first season. 8.0/10 Feb-2022
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- (TV) Excellent Pretty good and well written anime. I was expecting something different from the show when I first watched episode one, such as the transition from the real world to the fantasy world. To be honest, the transition from real to the fantasy world wasn't that impressive. All the main character did was blink, and he was in a different reality, so don't expect too much on the transition. Some of the story arcs are really well played and thought out, while others can make you question the sanity of the main character (because he literately goes insane after expecting different results for the same situation in the story arc). Overall, great anime and well written story. 8.5/10
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- (TV 2) Very good It was slow as hell at first, but after episode 31 things start to pick up again. The insanity that Subaru goes through is sheer madness. Trying to find a way to save everyone, die because he miscalculated something, go back to a checkpoint and start over with all of your memories still intact, repeat until you reach a new checkpoint. Like the famous video game character Vaas from FarCry 3 once said, "Insanity is doing the exact same fucking thing, over and over and over again, expecting shit to change. That is crazy.". That is basically what Subaru is going through and man, I feel gutted for him. Overall 8.4/10. Aug-2022
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Memory Snow (OAV) Very good A great addition to the Re:Zero world. It's a side story, so it's recommended that you watch season one first before watching this. Story wise, it's just puck releasing his magic due to his mana capping off. Thus creating a winter wonderland in the middle of summer for a few days. However, it was relaxing to watch as Subaru and the others just fool around during those few cold days. Overall 7.8/10 May-2020
Recovery of an MMO Junkie (TV) Very good I really enjoyed this anime. The fact that they used young adults as the characters, instead of the regular high school aged teens, made this show much more interesting. I loved the two main characters and how they react to each other. Much more natural and lively than I anticipated. The only thing I will complain about is that their are only 10 episodes and one OVA. This anime deserves at least 20! Overall 8.3/10. Oct-2018
Redline (movie) Very good
ReLIFE (TV) Very good Really amazing anime. Great story line, all likable and funny characters, and great art/animation. I thought at first this would be some sort of time traveling plot of the main character, going back to his high school days to redo his life. However, when it was just a pill that made him look younger, I was a bit disappointed. BUT, I got over it quickly as the anime was so damn good. My only complaint is that it is only 13 episodes. Overall, 8.1/10. Feb-2017
ReLIFE: Final Arc (OAV) Very good I've been waiting for a continuation of ReLIFE for quite some time. Much like the first season, it's very enjoyably with a satisfying ending. I want more but at the same time, I think the show does not need anymore main story content. I do want some OVA's and maybe some anime shorts. Now I did watch the first season subtitled, as a dub did not exist yet when I was watching this anime. But I did watch the Final Arc dubbed and it's good. Fundimation does a good job in casting VA's. Overall 8.1/10 Aug-2019
RIN - Daughters of Mnemosyne (TV) Very good Definitely an interesting anime to say the least. The first few episodes were quite engaging and the time jumps between episodes were very well done. The plot itself was very unique to say the least, as very few anime's deal with an immortal character(s). The dubbing was also quite good and well done. Overall not for everyone, but quite interesting. 7.8/10 Jun-2020
(The) Rising of The Shield Hero (TV) Very good Loved this show! The pacing was great, the introduction was very well done and the characters were very well made. This show also does raise some questions within the Shield Hero's world such as, should the Shield Hero go back to his own world and such? The connection between Raphtalia and Naofumi is fantastic! It really shows the bond between the two individuals and how Raphtalia is always by Naofumi's side, no matter the situation. I really enjoyed this show as this deserves another season. Overall 8.2/10 May-2020
Rosario + Vampire (TV) Good
Rosario + Vampire Capu2 (TV) Good
Saber Marionette J (TV) Very good Catchy theme song, unique story line, great characters, and a great dub? Yep, this anime was fun and very entertaining! The plot of the anime alone makes this a worth while to watch. I found this anime on a whim looking for a show to watch and lone and behold, this was recommend to me! Also, the English dub is great! Lime's VA, Maggie Blue O'HARA, really put effort into her role and sold it well! She sounds so appropriate for Lime, as she is energetic, happy and full of life! The rest of the VA do a really great job as well, so English is highly recommended! Love this show! Overall 8.2/10 Jan-2022
Saber Marionette J Again (OAV) Good Good OVA, but man I really miss the charm and charisma or the original Saber Marionette anime. Disappointingly, I had to watch subbed due to the new English VA's just not sounding right compared to the original VA's in the 25 episode anime. In Saber Marionette J, the English VA's sounded perfect for all the characters roles. Otaru sounded mature and grounded, Lime was energetic and fun, and Bloodberry was sedusive yet caring. Even when Cherry's original VA left, the studio made sure that the new VA sounded very similar. The music is still quite good, and while the art style is different, it's still good to look at. Overall, 7.6/10 Mar-2022.
Saga of Tanya the Evil (TV) Very good A very good and entertaining anime about alternative history. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wish there were more than 12 episodes. Having an anime about alternative history is really entertaining to watch. 8.1/10
Sakura Trick (TV) Good
Samurai Champloo (TV) Excellent An overall excellent anime. I really loved the historical story line, as it somewhat shows what Japan was like during the Edo period. and the characters were all very likable. The dub was music to my ears, such a great and perfect English cast to an amazing anime. This anime is not all about blood spilling action, as there is plenty of funny adult comedy. 8.7/10
Sasameki Koto (TV) Very good I have to say, this is a very good yuri anime. The story was simple, but can get emotional at some parts of the show. The music was f**king amazing!! I love the piano, violin and all of the other instruments, as it goes along perfectly with the mood and setting of the show. The ending is a bit frustrating, but I recommend reading the manga if you still wish to continue the story. Sadly, there may not be a second season due to poor sales, which is a shame. Overall, 8.2/10.
School Rumble (TV) Very good Its a good comedy and slap stick anime. But at times when the characters try to get there point across by confessing their love, or their current situation, it can be annoying when they are suddenly interrupted. So watch this show for the sole intent of comedy and nothing else. Still a pretty funny anime. 7.5/10
School Rumble: 2nd Semester (TV) Very good It's a great comedy anime with plenty of laughs and jokes. Many of the running jokes are someone getting into a situation that makes them look bad, as well as almost confessing to their love, but they get cut off unexpectedly. So the jokes do run dry and can get a bit dull from time to time, but I guess that is the nature of this show. It took me awhile to finish this show in it's entirety (about a 1 year or so), because I somewhat lost interest and put this show on the back burner for a while. I then decided that "hey, why not finish this show?". There are shows out there that do have better comedy, but this show is still pretty funny. The characters are all pretty likeable, but Yakumo is my favorite as she is sweet, down to earth, and cares for others. I honestly don't know why Harima does not have feelings for her, but I guess that is just part of the plot. The dub is quite good too, much like the first season. Overall 7.9/10 Dec-2020
School-Live! (TV) Very good All I can say is WATCH IT. Don't be fooled by that first episode! Whats really cool is that the OP slowly changes over the course of each episode. I found that to be creepy/cool. I loved all the characters and liked that this was not a typical zombie anime with a cliche zombie setting. I don't want to spoil too much but be prepared in the first episode. This anime gets an 8.1/10.
Schwarzes Marken (TV) Good I think any mecha fan can get some enjoyment out of this, even if the story in this anime is not as good as other mecha anime's. This anime as a whole was alright, but I just wish the plot was a bit more polished and presented better. Not a bad show though! Pretty good sound track, good characters and good fight scenes. Overall 6.9/10. Apr-2022
Seitokai Yakuindomo (TV) Very good
Seitokai Yakuindomo (movie) Very good Sexual jokes, the movie! Pretty much like the first two seasons, the movie follows a much similar pattern with sexual jokes, misunderstandings and more. It's been a long time since I watched the first two season, so it does feel nice to watch the first movie. Much like the series, the movie doesn't follow a traditional plot, but instead has small events and settings within itself. Overall 8.3/10
Seitokai Yakuindomo* (TV) Very good
Sekirei (TV) Good
Sekirei: Pure Engagement (TV) Very good Second season is definitely better than the first season. More action, better presentation of fan service/echi scenes, more dialogue and improved fighting scenes. If you wish to watch this series, be patient with the first season as the anime gets better in the second season. 7.9/10
Serial Experiments Lain (TV) Very good Good show and very impressive visuals, even by 2017 standards. However, hardly anything is explained in this show, so episodes do get very confusing. The anime was made in 1998, so I did like that the technology used in the show would later be common everyday devices in the real world. Wired would be the internet, smartphones and widescreen T.V.s are commonly shown throughout the show. Would give this show a higher score, if it actually explained each episode without all of the confusion. Overall 7.6/10
(The) Seven Deadly Sins (TV) Excellent An amazing anime anyone should see. It starts off very slow at first, but then builds up speed in terms of the story. The plot was very well written and the time line is a nice change of pace compared to other animes, as you don't see that many shows taking on the medieval time line. Since I watched the whole show dubbed, I have to say, it was pretty good. The English voice actors did really well. Overall 8.5/10
(The) Seven Deadly Sins -Signs of Holy War- (TV) Very good I enjoyed it for what it was. It's a nice relaxing four episodes with some extra story for the other characters. With the way the episodes are structured, these should have been OVA's. Plus Signs of the Holy War does seem misleading, as many have pointed out that their is not enough content. These should be treated as mini series or OVA's. But I did like them nevertheless 7.8/10
Shiki (TV) Very good I can see why most people dropped this anime. The story takes soooo looong to fully develop. However, I managed to roll with it and I must say, the anime is pretty good. The vampire aspect is pretty interesting and got my attention. If you can manage the story to develop by a dozen or so episodes, you should give this a try. 8/10
SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist (TV) Very good Funny, perverted and best of all, an actually English cast that did an fantastic job of voicing the characters. Yes, this show is about sexual jokes so if that is not your cup of tea, don't watch it then complain that it was dirty. The jokes in the show actually gave me a good chuckle, and the VA English cast did a fantastic job. 7.9/10
Skelter+Heaven (OAV) Awful Just as bad as Hametsu No Mars (mars of destruction) and made by the same f***ing people! Unnecessary flash backs, random cut scenes, not so great voice acting and a confusing as hell story line. 2.5/10
(The) Slayers (TV) Very good You can tell that love, dedication and effort went into this anime, even with a very low budget. The animation itself is the big weak point here, as stated the budget for this show was very low. Many repeated frames to save money, animation errors, and so on can really sink any anime from getting popular. Yet, Slayers didn't sink, it swam and then some, because it tells a great story, has a noteworthy cast of characters and most importantly, has VA's (Both English and Japanese) that put effort into their characters. If you can overlook the somewhat poor animation, Slayers tells a great story about magic, spells, monsters and friendship! Overall, 8.0/10. Jun-2022
Slayers - The Motion Picture Very good Same with Excellent and Book of Spells. Great animation, funny story line and a great cast of characters! English dub as really good too! Overall, 7.8/10 Jan-2022
Slayers Excellent (OAV) Very good Funny and very enjoyable to watch! Dub was great and the art style is very eye pleasing. Not much going on for the story, but it honestly doesn't matter as this OVA was quite silly as I imagine the creators knew it was quite ridiculous too. Overall 7.8/10 Dec-2021
Slayers Gorgeous (movie) Very good Much like the rest of the movie, it's funny, entertaining and has a great cast of characters. I love how this movie doesn't and does take itself seriously at the same time, and somehow making it work really well. Dub was great as always! Overall, 7.8/10 Jan-2022
Slayers Great (movie) Very good Again much like the rest, funny and very entertaining! 7.8/10 Jan-2022
Slayers Return (movie) Very good Funny short movie, great english dub and enjoyable. Overall, 7.7/10. Jan-2022
Slayers: The Book of Spells (OAV) Very good Funny, entertaining and just as good as Slayers Excellent. Love the English voice acting as it's very well done. Overall 7.8/10 Dec-2021
SoniAni: Super Sonico the Animation (TV) Good If it wasn't for that confusing middle episode than I've would of gave it a better score but that aside it wasn't that bad of an anime and I didn't waste my time ether. I did enjoy Super Sonico and her friends though, as it shows a couple of college girls going through everyday life. Just wish they put the show itself together a little better. 7/10
Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o - Anata to Koibito Tsunagi (OAV) Very good
Soul Eater (TV) Very good Really liked this show. At first, I thought 51 episodes would be a bit too much to watch, so I put the show on hold for a while. After convincing myself to watch Soul Eater I have to say, 51 episodes are absolutely perfect for this show. Ever single episode, besides having the neutral opinion on the Excalibur episodes, were all very much enjoyable and fun to watch. The Dub was also surprisingly pretty good. Wishing there was another season though. Overall 8.4/10.
Sound of the Sky (TV) Very good I went into this anime thinking that this would be mostly about music and learning how to play instruments in the military. However it's way more than that. It's about making friends, learning how to face your fears and asking others for help when you need it. From beginning to end, I enjoyed every single episode and did not have a least favorite one. I do wish that the creators had more lore about the current world that the anime sets in, and some more background for the characters. But I still really enjoyed this. 8/10 Jan-2019
Sound! Euphonium (TV) Very good Really great anime! The story line was very well made, easy to understand but not too complicated, great voice acting and overall a very enjoyable show. The animation was also fantastic and top notch. However, if you think there is a good amount yuri in this show such as the tags suggest, you will be greatly disappointed. Yes, there is good ol' females liking other females in this show. But the amount of yuri is so minimal, the tag needs to be taken off. Other than that sold 8/10. June-2017
Sound! Euphonium 2 (TV) Excellent What a satisfying beginning, middle and end. While the first season was very well made, the second season is more refined, more emotional and has back story for some of the characters. Watching this does remind me of the good times I had in high-school, which is quite unusual for an anime that does have the high-school setting for me as high school in general was good, but nothing to brag about. The art and animation, much like the first season, is fantastic and very well done. Not that many shows out there, have this clean and beautiful art style to them. The story is also much more refined and also gives the viewer some backstory on some of the main characters. Asuka Tanaka was my favorite character in this season. Overall 8.7/10 June-2019
Sound! Euphonium The Movie - Our Promise: A Brand New Day Excellent A fantastic movie squeal to the second season of the anime series. Some say that you have to watch Liz and the Blue Bird to see this, but I had no issues seeing this before Liz and the Blue Bird. To say the visuals were beautiful would be an understatement as the artists and animators do more than an outstanding job in this movie. The movie's story line is also very beautiful, as it shows the high-schoolers their ups and downs. Not everyone can get along, but everyone has a common goal, and that is to get to the Nationals. I honestly can't wait for the third season, as the show is just breathtaking and so beautiful. Also on a side note, Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Chruncyroll etc do not give the anime industry enough money so I directly donated to Kyoto Animation buy buying some digital wallpapers to show my support. Overall 8.8/10 Jan-2021
Space Dandy (TV) Very good
Space Dandy Season 2 (TV) Very good
Spice and Wolf (TV) Very good
Spice and Wolf II (TV) Excellent An amazing anime about economics, money making and romance. Very likable main characters, an amazing story line, a perfect setting taking place in medieval times and a perfect mix of romance, comedy and realism. The English Dub voice acting was also truly amazing. First season, in my opinion, gets 8.1/10 and second season gets 8.5/10.
Steins;Gate (TV) Excellent I wanted to watch this anime for quite sometime, but I kept putting it off. Eventually I decided to watch it on Fundimation's website and WOW, it's amazing! The first few episodes were a bit weird, as the concept of time travel and changing timelines were very mind boggling. However, I quickly got used to it after a few episodes. Okabe was quite annoying at first and I did find his character very unappealing during the first few episodes. However, during the middle of the series I quickly grew to like him, as he just wants to make things right in the world. Also the dub was spot on and extremely well made! Fundimation did a fantastic job of casting the English crew. Overall 8.8/10 Apr-2019
Steins;Gate 0 (TV) Very good I though I was a pretty good continuation of an alternative world line in the original anime Steins;gate. Steins;gate 0 follows the Steins:gate episode 23b, where Okabe decides to stay in the beta world line. In this world line, WW3 is inevitable. Why Steins;gate 0 was enjoyable, it was also pretty dark and not for everyone. The original Steins;gate and Steins;gate movie The Movie - Load Region of Déjà Vu, do have their heart wrenching moments but do manage to turn the situation around quite well. Steins;gate 0 does have it's fun moments, but is mostly dark. The dub was a bit awkward in the ending of episode 1, but it is quite good. No complaints on the dub. While I enjoyed the original Steins;gate and movie a bit more, I still liked gate 0. Overall, 8.4/10. Apr-2019
Steins;Gate: The Movie - Load Region of Déjà Vu Excellent A finely made movie! The movie continues the story from the first season's OVA, and does a fantastic job. You need to watch the first season of Steins;gate then the first season OVA, to fully understand this movie. Otherwise, you'll be completely clueless as to what is going on. The story is just as interesting as the first season, but the movies does add a little more physiological elements. Just like the first season, the dub cast is just as good as in the movie. Fundimation did a fantastic job of casting the voice actors for Steins;gate. Honestly, I kinda prefer the English dub over the Japanese, but they are both good. Overall 8.7/10 Apr-2019
Stratos 4 (TV) Good Not too bad honestly. The plot had some minor holes in it, but the overall premise was good. The entire anime is basically about protecting the Earth from comets and meteors, and when destroyed by the Comet Blasters up in space, the Meteor Sweepers on the ground shoot down the smaller parts. The English voice acting was kinda monotone at times. However some of the voice actors really put some effort into their role. If you're a fan of jets, planes and space related stuff, but don't mind the simple story, give this show a try. Overall, 7.3/10 Aug-2021
Strawberry Panic! (TV) Excellent One of the best Yuri anime's I've ever seen. Amazing dialog, likable characters and a sweet/feeling story line. 8.9/10
Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie Good A pretty good movie. The plot is quite simple, so anyone can watch this. Also while the naming can be confusing, this can be treated as a standalone movie for the franchise. While the voice acting was quite good, the dialog does need some work as the flow can be quite inconstant at times. Many one liners can also be in the dialog, hindering the flow as well. Going back to the plot, while it is simple, it does need some more backbone. Despite all of this, the action and music in this movie was well worth it! Love the music choice and fighting scenes. Overall 7.5/10 Jul-2020
Tawawa on Monday (ONA) Good It was good, for what it was. I usually don't get into the short anime shows that have 4-6 minutes per episode, but this has gotten me into that. I really liked how each protagonist has their own story line and plot. Basically, four salary men have their own separate story line and each one meets a very busty woman and befriends them. They talk about everyday life, what they do etc. There is very little story line, but it was still enjoyable and heartwarming. The creator @Strangestone, based this series off his original dialog-less web comics, so once it got popular, he had to find a way to add dialog between characters. Yes, there is fan service and bouncing breasts, an if you don't like it then don't watch it. The sweetness and heartwarming moments really made this show worth while (an the busty ladies too). 7.4/10 Oct-2019
Tenchi Muyo! (OAV 1/1992) Very good A pretty good SiFi anime. The dub is pretty good as well as the cast of characters. I really enjoyed watching this anime as it was fun to watch, while not being too serious. Since this is an OVA it's only six episodes but over the course of 30 plus years, the Tenchi Muyo time line has expanded into it's own franchise. Overall 8.4/10 May-2021
Tenchi Muyo! Mihoshi Special Very good What a funny and entertaining short as told by the most air headed character, Mihoshi! The way she tells the story is quite funny but also quite entertaining. I do wish there were more of these shorts that don't relate to the main OVA's story line, but also add on to her character a bit. Overall, 7.8/10 Seo-2021
Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki (OAV 3/2003) Good ....What happened to this beloved series??? The 90's Tenchi Muyo was so unique and spectacular, but with this OVA it's almost completely different. Don't get me wrong, this anime OVA is fine on its own, but as a Tenchi Muyo continuation, is quite disappointing. The good score is mostly due to the fact that this isn't bad at all, it's good to watch when you are board or have nothing better to do. However it still falls short of the original 90's Tenchi Muyo. Firstly, this dub is fine, but what happened to Petrea Burchard as Ryoko's VA? We had her since the beginning of Tenchi Muyo but now isn't present here. While Mona Marshall does a good job with Ryoko, it's weird that Petrea Burchard couldn't do the role of Ryoko. The entire original English cast, apart from Mihoshi and Tenchi's grandfather, is present in the 2003 version. Watching the entire series with Petrea playing Ryoko up until 2003, just feels weird with the new VA. Petrea was perfect for Ryoko! Also, the art style is VASTLY different. The 90's version feels unique and while not too realistic, feels like a fantasy SIFI anime with many interesting art and visual aspects. The 2003 version feels generic, kinda like an off the shelf show you would normally find with the same art style. The story line is also quite lacking. Nothing exciting is happening in the story, and nothing eventful is being added. The 90's version actually had plot and a story to tell. It also added many dramatic events that continued the plot that made it worth the watch. I can't imagine waiting 9 years for a continuation of this series, only to see what the 2003 version offered. Overall, not bad by itself, but as a continuation of the series, kinda disappointing. 6.8/10 Oct-2021
Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki (OAV 2/1994) Excellent What a great continuation of the well written show! The show has it's sad moments, but also happy and uplifting scenes too. It not only shows the hardships of the character's past lifestyle, but also shows a more simplistic lifestyle that they wish to have. That is what makes this show so unique, as it captures them being happy and content with how they choose to live life. Dub as fantastic too! Overall, 8.5/10. Sep-2021
Tenchi Muyo! The Night Before The Carnival (OAV) Very good
Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar (OAV) Very good Quite a good show! Even though it is a harem anime, which can drive off many people, the way the show did it was quite enjoyable. The story does take time to fully develop and get the viewer some action packed mecha battles. Around episode 6 is where the show really starts to get enthralling. Episodes 1-5 are mostly about the main character Kenchi getting antiquated to school life and helping the staff out. These are mostly just laid back episodes; letting the viewer become antiquated with all of the characters, even the minor ones. Which honestly is something not a lot of anime's do, so I personally respect that. It can be a turn off for some looking for a purely action mecha show, but the comedy and pure enjoyment in these early episodes did make up for it. Also, it was never really explained how Kenchi was brought into this world, so that was a minor disappointment. The English dubbing cast was very good, and I had no issue with any of the VA's rolls. The ending leave for another season of the War on Geminar, but we shall see if a season 2 is ever possible. Even though this show has 13 episodes, each on is around 46 minutes longs, so it would be equal to a 26 episode anime. All in all, a fine show for people looking for some comedy, romance and some mecha action. 8.3/10 Nov-2020
Tenchi the Movie - Tenchi Muyo in Love Very good A pretty good movie continuation of the Tenchi Universe timeline. Simple plot and great cast of english VA's. Overall 7.9/10. Aug-2021
Tenchi The Movie 2 - The Daughter of Darkness Good A good side story to the tenchi muyo series. Dub was good. 7.3/10 Nov-2023
Tenchi Universe (TV) Very good A great alternative retelling of the original Tenchi Muyo story. This adds more story and plot to the original anime, but it's highly recommended to watch the original first before proceeding. Just to get a feel of the series. English dub was also quite good as well. Overall, 7.8/10 Aug-2021
Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono (TV) Very good A perfect example of "Don't judge a book by its cover". It's an anime entirely based off of CGI, but the story and characters make up for it. It's basically four high school girls coming up with different club ideas in their own club room, but adding a funny and interesting twist behind every idea. During the club idea part, the VA's actually go off script and come up with their own ideas. You can tell the VA's had a fun time doing this and really added to the comedic value of the show. Each episode is only 11 minutes long, so it's very easy to watch through. Overall 8.2/10 Mar-2020
Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono Encore (TV) Very good Much like the first season, this season also makes fun of popular anime tropes and cliches. While the first season was fun to watch, this season ups the ante with the jokes and the ridiculousness. Many of the jokes are Japanese puns, so it may be hard to watch for some that don't understand Japanese, or there isn't a translation note on screen when a pun is being made. Overall, I really enjoyed it! 8.4/10 Aug-2020
Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono: Spin-off Puru Purun Sharumu to Asobō (TV) Very good A fun continuation of the Tesagure series and to send off the show, each episode is around 23 minutes long instead of 11 minutes. While five new characters are introduced, the writing still makes the show fun to watch. The ad-libbing, much like in the first and second season, is funny to watch as the VA's go off script and make fun of each other. My only complaint is episode 11 is quite unusual, as instead of ad-libbing like in the previous episodes, they just redub some episodes with a funny accent or lisp. But other than that, a good send off to the final season of this very unique and underrated anime. Wish more comedy anime shows did ad-libbing. Overall 8.3/10 Dec-2020
Texhnolyze (TV) Very good It's definitely an interesting show, even though it's down right depressing. With dialog being minimal, it can be very hard for some people to understand the story line and what is going on. Personally, I though it was a bit difficult to understand some of the story line. Since the main characters are introverted, its hard to understand what they are thinking and understand what is going on. However after some reading, the main story is quite simple. If humanity is doomed to become extincted, should we all cast aside our humanity and continue living as texhnolysed beings, or should we cast texhnolyzation aside and die out? After reading the wiki, it is quite interesting to see how the show played out these questions. But holy shit, I would be lying if I said that the entire show wasn't depressing or even dark. The English dubbing is quite good and standard, so no complaints there. I honestly would not recommend this show to someone, who is looking for an action packed series and while there is some action, it's not a whole lot. Also, THIS SHOW IS DARK AND VERY DEPRESSING! Don't watch it if you want something uplifting! Overall 7.8/10 Oct-2020
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (TV) Very good Quite a good fantasy anime. While I would recommend Log Horizon or Re:zero for someone who wants to watch the fantasy genre, this anime is still pretty good if you have already seen those two. It can be cliche at time, but can also be quite wholesome too. The animation is pretty standard, along with some minor story plots, but it is quite enjoyable. Overall 7.8/10 July-2019
(The) Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye (TV) Very good What an underrated gem! I love the story, the characters and the atmosphere in this anime. The English dub is fantastic and the cast does a fantastic job of voice acting. The narrator does a superb job of adding elements to the show. The anime could have ended at episode 12, but instead the producers decided to continue the amazing story. I do wish their was a second season or at least an OVA. Overall 8.5/10 Feb-2019
+Tic Elder Sister (ONA) Good This anime does not tell a story, nor does it develop a strong plot. But it makes up for this with some pretty good comedy. With that said, don't expect some sort of story or developing plot, cause you won't get one. Enjoy this for comedic purposes. 7.1/10
Time of Eve (movie) Excellent
To Love Ru: Darkness (TV) Very good
To Love Ru: Darkness (TV 2) Very good A very funny and entertaining show. Ya, some of the Rito gags get old but hey, I honestly don't mind. The show was quite entertaining and I really enjoyed it. 7.9/10
To Love-Ru (TV) Very good This is one of the first animes that got me into the anime genre. I must say, very unique in its own special way and pretty funny too. The story was pretty good and the comedy was funny. If you take this anime too seriously, go see a doctor. Turning off your brain is probably the best way to watch this show. 7.7/10
To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness (OAV 3) Good
Toradora! (TV) Very good
Toradora!: The True Meaning of Bento (OAV) Very good A nice OVA for the anime. Wish there was more though as I really enjoyed this show. 8/10
Trigun (TV) Very good An amazing and well written SiFi show, with a good old western cowboy theme to it. While Vash maybe bit of a softy at times and annoying in some situations, all of the main characters were very likeable. Lastly, since this a SiFi western themed anime, don't expect any space action or planet traveling. The show only sticks to one main planet, unlike other SiFi western anime. Overall 8.4/10.
Uma Musume Pretty Derby (TV) Very good I was not expecting this show to be this good. I was expecting a half baked, less than decent anime adaption from a mobile game. Yet instead there was an actually story being told, great cast of characters and a very interesting premises. The idea of horse girls, basically humans but with horse ears tails and a much faster running speed, competing in derbies and other racing is quite the interesting and entertaining take. The whole anime was enjoyable and very heartwarming at times. I also like how the girls were named after actual race horses, such as special week who won many races. Overall 8.2/10. Apr-2023
Vampire Hunter D (OAV) Good A good classic anime movie. Granted, the animation is pretty standard for an 80's anime and there are some scenes of the movie that don't flow smoothly, but the story is pretty good. Overall 7.4/10 Aug-2019
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (movie) Very good A really good sequel to the original Vampire Hunter movie. The story could use a bit more dialog between the characters, but overall a pretty good movie. I wish there was a Vampire Hunter anime, as that would be a great watch. The art style is very good and quite realistic. Great dub too. 7.8/10 Dec-2021
Vampire in the Garden (ONA) Very good Quite a good short story, even if it does have some flaws to it. Episodes 1 and 2 really set the tone of the anime, but episode 3 does veer off a bit. Episodes 4 and 5 come back to that tone and wrap the show up. I really do feel that this deserves a proper season, as the story for this anime has a lot of potential! The english dub is also very good. Overall 7.8/10. Jun-2022
Vexille - 2077 Isolation of Japan (movie) Good Not a bad movie at all, but the plot could have used some reinforcement and a bit more backbone. The CGI for the time is outstanding as much like the other appleseed movies, still holds up today very well. Characters are good, but much could use some improvement. The dub is quite good as well. Overall not bad, but could have been a bit better. 7.6/10 Sep-2021
Vinland Saga (TV) Very good Great show! While the historical accuracy of the events might not be 100% correct, because it is a show to entertain us, it's still great to watch. The character building for many was great, especially for prince Canute. Thorfinn on the other hand, while improving greatly on his combat skills, relys too much on past issues. Also the sentai dub was quite good. Although, this was a minor issue in both sub and dub, everyone speaks the same language to the viewer. So Danish will just be English, or Japanese. Overall, the pacing of the show was great and had some great combat. Overall, 8.1/10. Feb-2023
Violet Evergarden (TV) Excellent Absolutely fantastic! Loved the characters, the art work and even the story. It's one of those few anime's that are a tear jerker and for a good reason. I can't recommend this show enough! 9/10
Violet Evergarden (OAV) Excellent Absolutely beautiful! Just as good as the anime. This OVA takes place between episodes 4 and 5. Honestly just down right gorgeous! 9/10 Sep-2019
Violet Evergarden I: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll (movie) Excellent What a great side story to the Violet Evergarden franchise! Much like the TV series, the art/animation is down right beautiful! The story is great and just warms anyone's heart and while there is no ultimate conclusion, the ending is still oh so beautiful. Much like with side stories, watch the main series first, then this!!!! Overall, 8.8/10. Apr-2022
Violet Evergarden: The Movie Excellent A beautiful and well written movie to conclude the Violet Evergarden story. This movie is quite lengthy at 2 hours and 20 minutes, but rest assured it's well worth the watch. Of course, you need to watch the 12 episode series of Violet Evergarden first before watching this movie. Honestly, I have no complaints about this movie, other than the fact that this beautiful and down to Earth series has ultimately ended. I do think that the TV series and the Auto Memory Doll movie were just a tiny bit better, but this movie is still great. I'm glad that Violet Evergarden to ended on a strong note, overall. I'm sure Kyoto animations will make another great and well written franchise! Overall, 8.7/10. Aug-2022
Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song- (TV) Very good Another underrated gem that nobody is talking about. The show's plot can be somewhat tricky to understand, as it does involve some time travel, but overall it's easy to understand. The beginning really sets the tone of what will happen in the show's plot, as the main character Vivy is desperately trying to change the outcome of the future to save humanity, with the help of another A.I. robot. The action is top notch as you can really see the work and effort that went into it. The art is fantastic as well, and sometimes the anime will show a very detailed still of a character, showing all of the details of their face. Which I thought was a very nice touch. Overall 8.4/10 Jun-2021
Wagnaria!! (TV) Very good
Wagnaria!!2 (TV) Very good
Wandering Witch - The Journey of Elaina (TV) Very good What a treat to watch! I was expecting a bit more violence and such, due to the r17 rating on Myanime List. However, even though it was just one episode of such material, I still greatly enjoyed this anime! It's cute and has it's wholesome moments, but can also pull you down at times and remind you that it has its realistic moments. Elaina has a hard headed personality, but it's to keep herself out of trouble. She also has faults, and wants to know herself more and be a better person. Honestly, it works well in this fantasy anime with magic and witches. I'm wishing for another season with more adventures from her! The dub was also quite good too. Overall, 8.2/10. Jul-2023
Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW (movie) Very good What a fun and adventurous anime show! Granted, the movie's plot isn't all that complex as well as the dialog, but the visuals and settings strongly make up for it. Speaking of visuals, WOW! I've never seen so much eye candy before. The colors a bright and vibrant, and the characters design for the main cast is clean, but not too realistic. While this show is family friendly and kids can watch this, adult can too enjoy this show. The characters don't explain how everything works in detail, such as "how can you broadcast a live tv show throughout the universe, with the limit of the speed of light", but honestly they don't need too. This is a show to enjoy for what it is, without the need to know every single bit of information. Hell, even the lore of the show is almost none existent. The English dubbing cast was also great, as reading subtitles with so much eye candy on screen would have been very difficult. Overall 8.2/10. Oct-2021
When They Cry - Higurashi (TV) Very good
When They Cry - Kai (TV) Excellent
When They Cry - Rei (OAV) Good A pretty good OVA of the well renowned horror anime. I wish there were more horror and violence in this OVA, but it was still good nevertheless. Episodes 1 and 5 are considered comedic episodes so you can skip those if you please. Overall 7.6/10 Aug-2021
Wicked City (movie) Good It was quite interesting to say the least. Image being on a very mild acid trip, not knowing what you might expect in the next few minutes. This movie was quite random, as in where the plot was going, but it definitely made for an interesting show. Many of the sexual scenes were kinda weird, as this movie does involve demons and other worldly monsters. The English voice acting was pretty good, especially one from the 80's. Overall weird sexual scenes but good action. 7.6/10 Jan-2021
Witch Craft Works (TV) Good Not too bad of a show. Wish it explained the magic in greater detail, as I had no clue to how witches use magic, and how spells in general work. Also, the story needs a little more backbone, as the show tended to rush a lot of scenes with combat and dialog between characters. Overall, not too bad of a show, just wished it had a little more effort put into it. 7.4/10
Wolf and the Amber-colored Melancholy (OAV) Very good
(The) World God Only Knows (TV) Very good
Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku (TV) Very good Much like 'Recovery of an MMO Junkie' this show also has similar traits and is just as enjoyable. Instead of the main focus being online gaming, it's just young adults enjoying their hobbies with their friends and talking about what they like and don't like. It's quite realistic in terms of plot and story wise, but also enjoyable as all of the characters have a unique personality and are all very likeable. Much like shows such as this, the anime can be a bit too short as 15 or 20 episodes might have been a bit better. However when the anime aired, the manga probably did not have enough material for more episodes, which is usually the case for a lot of shows. Unfortunately because this show features young adults as the main cast and talks about real life scenarios (e.g. anime show discussions, manga recommendations, etc.), it's just not as popular as other series. So hopefully another season will be made, as this show has a lot of great potential. Overall 8.4/10. Dec-2020 The OVA showing Hanako and Taro's highschool back story was really sweet and funny! It's nice the producers included this as we barely got any back stories of those two characters. Same score as anime. Dec-2020
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (OAV) Very good It's quite surreal seeing a iyashikei being set in a post-apocalyptic setting. It's quite soothing, relaxing and very enjoyable to just chill to. There is no mention or explanation on why many towns are underwater and what happened before, because there's really no need. Same with the main character being an android. When was she made, how does she work and why is she here? All these questions might help with our curiosity, but quite frankly with the plot being the way it is, it doesn't really matter. This anime does two big jobs and only two big jobs. To be relaxing and have a very unique plot. I really enjoyed just chilling to this show. 8.2/10 Sep-2019
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou: Quiet Country Cafe (OAV) Very good Much like the first OVA, this does a great job on being relaxing. I really do wish some of the characters got more screen time and explained who they were. For instance, a pink long haired android makes an appearance for only 15 seconds. Also, some questions did get answered in this seconds OVA, but not all of them. However, that is alright as this anime really does not need to explain any current or past events. 8/10 Oct-2019
Your Lie in April (TV) Excellent Its been a while since I saw an anime this good. When I watched the first couple of episodes I though that this would be some sort or slice of life/slap stick but its not. The drama and romance in this anime is really spectacular. Plus, the character development/dialog is really amazing! Great job A-1 studios for making an amazing anime! 8.8/10

Yuruyuri - Happy Go Lily (TV2) Very good
Yuruyuri Nachu Yachumi! (OAV) Very good
Yuruyuri Nachu Yachumi!+ (TV) Very good
Yuruyuri San Hai! (TV 3) Very good
Zombie Land Saga (TV) Very good I was expecting this show to have more horror in it, but I still very much enjoyed it. I also did not expect this show to turn into an idol anime, but with the girls being zombies, again I still very much enjoyed it. I am hoping for a second season, with some more explanation on how the rest of the girls died and became zombies. Overall, a great concept and quite a good show. 7.9/10 May-2019
